Escape the confines of City 17 and strike a blow for the resistance!

As Dr. Gordon Freeman, you were last seen exiting City 17 with Alyx Vance as the Citadel erupted amidst a storm of unknown proportions. Now, in Episode Two, you must battle and race against Combine forces as you traverse the White Forest to deliver a crucial information packet stolen from the Citadel to an enclave of fellow resistance scientists.

Episode Two is the second of a planned trilogy of games that extends the award-winning and best-selling Half-Life adventure. Unique weapons, vehicles, and new creatures, friends, and enemies all make an appearance.

The new version will no more require Source SDK Base 2007. Instead, it will require Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer to be played with.

While the version isn't out yet, save yourself some time by doing the following procedures bellow:

1) Open your Steam's Library, then change the list to 'TOOLS'.
2) Search for Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer.
3) Upon finding the tool, right-click it and select the 'Properties' option.
4) Click on the "Betas" tab, then switch to "upcoming - " on the list of available betas.
5) Close the tool's Properties windows and install Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer.

If you really want to, you can download the compatible mods on the links above.

Indeed, the game was pretty good. Good dose sequences, although it is true, Gordon + Range + gun indoors WAS seriously getting old. I for one can not wait to get out of the first quarter of game that you spend it more underground.
Late onset, but improvements sufficient for me.

As for negative comments on the graphics: a virtual world where some want to reproduce perfectly the reality and can destroy anything, it means that we must be very full of complex ... idea is to know that it is still a game. Furthermore, the studios spend 80% of production during the engine, graphics and effects, it clearly will not offer the story, concept, cohesive atmosphere, gameplay elements so smart. That is exactly the key issues for a game.
I for one look at Far Cry 2 and Crysis + sigh ... no monsters as much as realism, graphics broken mouth ... starvation, but ... freakin 'classic shooters in the most boring way.
I have heard comments like that **** what about the Neverwinter Nights 2, we should take lessons from Dungeon Siege. It's like comparing chess with (respectively) plates.

You can say what you will about Gates and Episode 2, but remain one of the most "valid" producers play. And I wait for Episode 3. When it is. Next year 2 years 3. I'll play, no matter how stupid you look to other games 'realistic'. Because, think-Dacians bathrooms, one is to reproduce photographic reality it's another to have a design concept and art design that will serve to create an atmosphere of a universe, to tell an interesting story and to leave some questions as Small ago ... :-) :-)

It's because Valve doesn't care anymore, you can't even fix it because they didn't include anyway to update your mod to the 2009 version.
