Escape the confines of City 17 and strike a blow for the resistance!

As Dr. Gordon Freeman, you were last seen exiting City 17 with Alyx Vance as the Citadel erupted amidst a storm of unknown proportions. Now, in Episode Two, you must battle and race against Combine forces as you traverse the White Forest to deliver a crucial information packet stolen from the Citadel to an enclave of fellow resistance scientists.

Episode Two is the second of a planned trilogy of games that extends the award-winning and best-selling Half-Life adventure. Unique weapons, vehicles, and new creatures, friends, and enemies all make an appearance.

Rabbit Hole: the bottom

Today I deciced that it was the time to create a moddb profile for Rabbit Hole: the bottom. It continues the plot of the original Rabbit Hole but I have a lot more ambitious plans for it.

Rabbit Hole: the bottom starts where the original mod ends - in the cage. The player falls down with it and finds himself in the dark cave deep below the surface.

The cave The cave

The mod will be less focuced on combat but more on a horror atmosphere and story. It will feature a rich storyline and will be a lot more spectacular, than the original Rabbit Hole was. Though it still takes place in the undergrounds, the visual aspects of the mod will be very strong, like highly detailed caves, epic underground vistas and a giant lovecraftian styled city. In order to add variety to the gameplay I plan to add some human enemies with firearms (not combine soldiers) and they will be an important part of the story. And of course the will be new music. It's going to be dark ambient mostly but there will be melodic tracks also.

I'm going to use Source SDK 2013 instead of ep2 platform for it.

I can't say how long it will take to develop this mod. I hope it's going to be faster this time.

The cave The cave

Current progress: the raw version of the first map is almost ready. You can look at some screenshots in the images section. Though I still need to make and add some more props there.

So fell free to track this page if you want to get news of the development progress.

If Valve are going to make Half Life 2: Episode Three, they have got to make it full of revenge for Alyx's father. Like, to try and wipe the combine forces straight out of City 17, to make it a free city.

Then maybe a new threat?

This is just my opinion, so I'm not trying to make it be like that, but I would like it like that.

Indeed, the game was pretty good. Good dose sequences, although it is true, Gordon + Range + gun indoors WAS seriously getting old. I for one can not wait to get out of the first quarter of game that you spend it more underground.
Late onset, but improvements sufficient for me.

As for negative comments on the graphics: a virtual world where some want to reproduce perfectly the reality and can destroy anything, it means that we must be very full of complex ... idea is to know that it is still a game. Furthermore, the studios spend 80% of production during the engine, graphics and effects, it clearly will not offer the story, concept, cohesive atmosphere, gameplay elements so smart. That is exactly the key issues for a game.
I for one look at Far Cry 2 and Crysis + sigh ... no monsters as much as realism, graphics broken mouth ... starvation, but ... freakin 'classic shooters in the most boring way.
I have heard comments like that **** what about the Neverwinter Nights 2, we should take lessons from Dungeon Siege. It's like comparing chess with (respectively) plates.

You can say what you will about Gates and Episode 2, but remain one of the most "valid" producers play. And I wait for Episode 3. When it is. Next year 2 years 3. I'll play, no matter how stupid you look to other games 'realistic'. Because, think-Dacians bathrooms, one is to reproduce photographic reality it's another to have a design concept and art design that will serve to create an atmosphere of a universe, to tell an interesting story and to leave some questions as Small ago ... :-) :-)
