As Dr. Gordon Freeman, you were last seen exiting City 17 with Alyx Vance as the Citadel erupted amidst a storm of unknown proportions. Now, in Episode Two, you must battle and race against Combine forces as you traverse the White Forest to deliver a crucial information packet stolen from the Citadel to an enclave of fellow resistance scientists.

Episode Two is the second of a planned trilogy of games that extends the award-winning and best-selling Half-Life adventure. Unique weapons, vehicles, and new creatures, friends, and enemies all make an appearance.

JUNE W5 NEWSLETTER 2015


Alpha 0.4 has been released this month, which includes yet another revision of the Niagara Apartments (lighting redone - entities, colour correction and HDR), revised citizen textures (added a "coal" effect on their faces and uniforms) and a redone animation for the Breencast.

Apart from a few minor changes, I am very confident that I will be able to work on the outdoor areas of the Introduction chapter next month. I will also be messing with the modification's source code. For those wondering what exactly is planned with "Alpha 1", the intention of Alpha 1 is to have at least 10 minutes of gameplay, since a few of the assets used in the Niagara Apartments level will be carried on into other levels - development for that particular area has taken quite a bit of time.

You can test out the changes from Alpha 0.3 to Alpha 0.4 by downloading the latest release here. Below features some screenshots from the latest release (Alpha 0.4):

HISTORY OF PRODUCTIVITY

Apart from some outside help, I have been the sole contributor to this project. Regardless, I have been trying for the past two months to increase my own productivity by laying out a release schedule. Every two weeks I release a newsletter, every month, I release a new mod version. This schedule seems to be working rather well thus far, so I am going to stick with it.

I have put together a chart to show what progress has been made on the project since its first media release on Mod DB:

I think it is clear from that chart that the current schedule is working well. I only hope that I will be able to continue pushing this project forward at a consistent pace. If any of you are interested, I am still seeking volunteers for the Freedom4Gamers Wiki, you may apply here.

I try to install mods, but the game does not recognize mods and load the maps but not particles, weapons or other models, no sounds, just keep the map of the mod with normal ep2 system, why is this happening. if anyone wants to help I can give more details.

Are you putting all the mod folders files into your half-life episode 2 folder? If so, don't do that. Put them in Sourcemods, which should be another folder right next to your account folder.
