Grief is a puzzle platformer in which you take the role of a young girl struggling to find clarity within the depths of her own mind. The game features twenty levels, starting off easy but quickly growing quite challenging.

The main feature of the game is that you switch between optimism and pessimism to solve puzzles. The girl's abilities will be improved/restricted depending on which state you are currently in.Alongside the basic OP/PS engine, there are a number of obstacles that both aid and hold you back. You must use them to their fullest potentials in order to complete each level.
Grief does not feature a saving system. Think of it like the old super mario bros games. Sure, you have to beat the game in one go, but it makes you that much stronger in doing so!
The tutorial is integrated, and you'll learn along the way. However, there are some in-game options such as B, N and M to turn on/off particles, sfx and music respectively. Escape pauses the game, for when you need to go do... other things.
Grief has two endings, depending on whether or not you complete a certain act within the game. Play time is about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, depending on your puzzle talent.

Hey, just tried it but sadly I didn't come that far.
Some minor flaws sprung into my eye:
-you can't repeat a level, if you miss a teddy e.g. then you have to start the whole game again, would be nice that if you press a button (like k), you restart the level
-if you start the game, collect some teddies and then go back to menu, starting a new game, you keep the teddies you already collected in the previous session
-you can get stuck, this wouldn't be so bad if the game would have a repeat level function like mentioned above

I'm sorry - I really like arty and interesting psychological uses of gameplay, but the art feels bland and cliché in its current style.

I am not trying to be mean, I simply feel that this exact style has been done multiple times before :/

For sure there are thousands of such art styles, but imo not every new game has to offer something new and innovative in artistic style.
Games that offer good old gameplay and known art style has their place too.

And I think that the author spend enough time to make the game a pleasurable look, especially for such a short game.
