Years ago, the Locust Horde gathered under every major city and launched a surprise attack. Untold numbers died on Emergence Day, and rather than allow the Locust to keep the spoils of their aggression, humans used chemical weapons and orbital particle beams to destroy them - and their own cities. With most urban centers and military installations rubble, survivors gathered on Jacinto Plateau, whose solid granite strata could not be easily penetrated. When the Horde breached the plateau's defenses, Marcus Fenix defied orders to save his father at East Barricade Academy - but he was too late. Charged with dereliction of duty, he has been sentenced to 40 years in Jacinto Maximum Security Penitentiary...

For those who were waiting for HIVE v0.4, this decision will affect the development process of this mod. THERE WILL BE NO H.I.V.E v0.4. But don't be afraid, this is not the end of the adventure of creating this mod. Instead of the promised HIVE v0.4, you will get:

I made this decision for two reasons. First, I wanted to go away from the numbers that would spillover more problems (I can not imagine 10 different versions prior to version 1.0). After the second, I wanted to refresh a little image of the "mod", the new name is expected to give a little more simplicity. I hope that you'll like the new name.

And now a little more information on the progress that I recently did. If you read the list of changes that I'm going to make, I can confirm that most of the interface elements have been changed to better-looking ones, I managed to fix the spawn system of player (made from scratch) and locusts. In addition, I changed the rules for special spawn locusts (I mean the mission objectives - for Assassination and the Beast Slay modes). I've also added an option that clears the map of the garbage that leave behind custom locusts (helmets, weapons, armor items). Information, which certainly all appreciate, is that the prices of all upgrades and abilities will be reduced.
But there is still much to do. The goal I took myself is to complete mod for about 65%. This means that you will still have to wait. It is not a good message, but I want to complete this mod as soon as possible. So far, I can not give any details as to how the mod will look. This is not the time. I have a general outline of gameplay, and maybe present it in the future. From time to time I will publish some pictures and videos.
That would be enough. More information can be found in the future.
Cya!
PS. Here is the latest uploded gameplay movie

Highest Rated (4 agree) 7/10
It's pretty generic, just like most third person shooters this days. shoot the shit out of lods'a monsters, hear a annoying briefing that won't help you even a bit, use bigass machinegun, face different enemies and all the shit you can imagine(in a action game of course). But, this game, has nothing too inovative, it's just, TAKE COVER, SHOOT, SPRINT TO COVER, SHOOT, KILL AND ENEMIE USING MELEE, ADVANCE IN STAGE, KILL THEM, KILL MOAR LOCUST, ADVANCE IN STAGE, and keep on goin'. i had a bit of fun…

Can someone explain the big deal about this game?
Why dont you just read the description? ¬¬
its coming to pc but i think it may not do that well because of the high standards...well atleast they are going to change the story line a little and let u fight that monster with the huge cannon on its head but other then that its goign to be just like the 360 version
"Remember, this game is so popular on consoles because console gamers have such low standards. They have never had a good game before."
Low standards !?!?What are you saying! Im a hybrid-gamer i play pc and also xbox360 and even now GOW is my favourite game (or second best 'cause HL1 rocks) and i think that only Halo3 or mass effect can change that, or some new pc release i havn't heard of yet. And ill have to say that Hl2 was a let down unlike the Gears of War and they both had their fair share of hype. HL2 was good but thats it. Gears of war is somehow refreshing (and it has great balls for a game :P) and Half-Life has the best Beginning , mid- and end-sections its perfect.
The game was built only to xbox360 and there for was smooth in it. Oblivion was also a pc game and the engine didn't propably sync with xbox the way GOW's did. Now we have to hope epic does a great work transforming the game to pc.
Don't get your hopes so high on this game.
Remember, this game is so popular on consoles because console gamers have such low standards. They have never had a good game before. I don't know why this is here unless they ahve announced that it will be for PC. In any case I think it will be a bad engine to mod. A few reasons I say this is because
A: The game is bad to begin with, 2 players max? Even if there are online servers how many can they hold what 10? Console ports are known to be lazy as **** and barely change it over to PC to use the power that it can be used for.
B: It's originally from the console. If it's been tuned down to the point that a console can play it fat chance there going to actually restore the engine to a point where any PC gamer would even want to use it.
Don't think you'll need a super graphics card to run this. Just think, the Xbox could hardly run Oblivion even on High. Most PC graphics cards that are high end can handle Oblivion Oblivion on Max and then some. Consoles are weak hardware wise so if a Console can run this it's probably pretty nerfed. Just imagine what a PC could do with this engine. You'll only probably need a 7000 series card to run it. What's that like $130 now? And thats a high end card. Just because it's not DX10 and you don't have vista doesn't mean you can't run it either. I run most Vista only games on XP just fine.
I'm a hardcore PC gamer (been playing since First Person Shooters had only simple wire-frame shapes for enemies) who happens to be a big fan of Gears of War. I doubt that means I have low standards. It's made by Epic; a well loved development team in the mod community responsible for giving us the always excellent Unreal games.
On top of that, Gears of War is pretty solid and enjoyable if you give it a chance. I know that can be difficult for many PC enthusiasts and purists. Sure, I am disappointed with the limited multiplayer options, but to say that it's a subpar game primarily because it's a console to PC port is pretty harsh and unfair. It shouldn't be judged on that basis. However, if we were to discuss the instability of the included editor for GoW, then yeah, that's definitely a legitimate issue and it needs to be brought up to par with the UT3 version.
Also, to the guy with the Halo icon asking about what the big deal with this game is: can you sense the irony? I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad game, but with people often questioning the hype for that particular game, you can probably try to understand how tough it is to answer that question. You just have to try it yourself.
This game rocks. I love the use of iron sights, not much games have iron sights. People hate iron sights for some reason. But when they have it in Gears of War no one cares.
This and Lost Planet just prove why people with a good PC will never need an Xbox360. Now I wait for Dead Rising to be ported...
If this is the God, then I'm considering turning into atheistic gamer.
