                   Socializing and some news!

We worked hard in the last days...

and now we want to inform you about the things we are up to.

Number one:

We want to build a community through the common social networks like Facebook, Twitter and so on.
Just search for Galacticwar and you will find us at me many networks. If you have got a good network we havent registered yet just comment under the news.

Number two:

We have heared by many people that they got performance issues when running the game. So we started all together the development of a option menu which will appear at the beginning of the game. We mommently can change the resolution through but we also are going to implement other things like bloom effects ando so on. Please comment if you got an idea on options we could add. There will be a Key-Binding-menu integrated.

Number three:

One person of our team will make a short instruction on our game. Many questions about it will be answered.

Number four:

We got officially implented in the Tunngle gaming network. Everyone who joines it will see all games which are played at the moment. Soon we will add the script into our game but currently you have to install Tunngle.

Number five:

One bad news or not. We don't know. Please comment this.
Soon there will be a update on our game. We have got to options: We could make a new, big and full installer. The update made for the new version would be smaller. Or we could make a patch file which would be big(>500MB). The full installer would make it to us more simple to  release updates even small updates which would be small. The full installer would be about 1 to 2,5 gb big. We really don't know yet. We think that could bring it down to 1 gb with 7Zip or use our on compression program which would bring it down to 100 MB but the extracting time would be longer. (Ca. 8 hours)

Please comment this and try our game

We could upload a beta if you want. It only works when you installed GCw in the path C:/UDK/Galacticwar and you always has to configure everything. It doesn't look good and so. It's a beta. We will upload it now

No it isn't I uploaded it to indiedb but here is the direct link: Wuala.com . It only works if you have Galacticwar installed in C:/UDK/Galacticwar. D:/UDK/Galacticwar doesn't work.

By the way it will be always an installer. There are the options between a big one and a small one. Advantages of the big one: Smaller updates and easier to make. Advantages of the small one: It is small but the updates will take longer time to be developed and will be bigger.

*sigh* I HATE my computer for barely letting me play this game! :(

It is already beautiful in every aspect!

the only thing i could hope for is a better computer to better enjoy this gem of an indie game! Thank you Galacticwar Team for giving me an excellent bot-kill experience

Bigger installer please. I prefer to just download all the stuff I need at once instead of having to download a small file and then having to patch for hours.

Just downloaded the game today and it looks beautiful. I have no clue how much is stolen from UDK and how much is made yourself, but the gameplay is fine and the graphics are just great (and hey, bots that can play CTF! You don't see that often!)

Keep up the good work!

(Oh, by the way, what's up with multiplayer? Just wait for the Tunngle script to be added to the game or is there anything more happening there?)

We are sorry for the delay but we are working on the game and we will update indiedb and our site soon. Yes of course there are many things happening. Galacticwar was integrated and is officially supported in Evolve.(www.evolvehq.com). In order to take place in the closed beta go to this page: Evolvehq.com It is a link made for GCW to allow all players to GCW via Evolve. There is a party maker and party finder option which you can use with GCW. The server of the party you connected to should be shown in the server browser if not open the console and use the diract ip command. Many other things are happening. We will soon release a news with everything in it.

I don't think that we will get the instaler to be less than 400 MB big and if we could do this the extraction would take more than 16 hours. Sorry but you have to download it in the big version.
