You've patched in to the enemy's security system: get ready to make your plan. Frozen Synapse is the ultimate strategy game: you have full control over your strike team, directing their every movement. At the same time, your opponent is plotting to defeat you. Plan your moves, then hit the "Execute" button: both you and your enemy's turns are executed simultaneously. Bite-size, hardcore strategy with a striking sci-fi aesthetic.

Do you want to play an early beta of the ultimate tactical game Frozen Synapse and get a free copy for a friend?

Posted by Mode7Games on Apr 19th, 2010

After about two years in development so far, we're delighted to open pre-orders for Frozen Synapse!

If you pre-order now, you'll get to play the early beta that's shown in the video above. There are still a lot of rough edges and bugs to chase down, but we've been playing it a lot recently and having fun with our testers.

You'll get a free, full copy of the game if you pre-order now: this is to make sure that everyone is able to get a game straight away and gets the maximum fun out of the early beta.

In the near future, we'll be putting out an update with some quick fixes very soon and then going back to work on polishing this version, as well as starting to get in some more of the community stuff we want to have in there.

We have a preview from the almighty Rockpapershotgun up now! Mr Kieron Gillen, who is a very nice man (not just because he wrote nice things about us, mind) wrote it. There are too many nice things to quote right now.

There's a nice preview at Resolution over here, written Mr Lewis Denby who is a very nice man (not just because he wrote nice things about us either).

Also, we'll be going over to Gamespot later this week, so watch out for that one.

We've had a huge amount of interest in pre-ordering the game, which has been amazing: thanks for everything so far and we'll keep you updated with all you need to know.

So pleased to see you guys come this far, I remember when I first saw some concept shots and fresh ideas. It was quite a pleasure watching it develop and blossom into a great game. One of the reasons I love moddb :)

I'll definitely be supporting once I save up some cash. Hopefully by this weekend. I'll probably buy it again if you release it on Steam with integration with friends list etc. Can never have too many copies to give to others!

Thanks very much mate - yes, I remember your name and we have noticed the people who have followed us since the very early days.

I hope that this shows that we mean what we say about continuing to work hard on the game. Some people have worried that, as it's so far to release, things will go wrong but this is more than just work to us - we're completely committed to making it! I think our long-term ModDB followers know this better than anyone - we've got to show the new people!

It's funny, at every stage of game development when you think you're doing well, it just shows up how hard you still have left to work!

Thanks. Being on Steam is not under our control - we're encouraging anyone who wants the game to be on Steam to post in the Steam forums about it.

Wow... just... wow.
It would be a crime not to buy this game.

By the way, when are the pre-orders closing?
I'd really like to give the beta a try.

No it's not by the people who made Uplink xD

Mode 7 made this (Frozen Synapse), and Introversion Software made Uplink.
