Hi everyone,

We have decided to close the Kickstarter and stop the development of Freebooter for the foreseeable future. At the time of writing, we are still at 8% of the Kickstarter goal amount, and we do not see a way to turn things around before the end of the Kickstarter.

We have loved the idea of Freebooter ever since we first discussed it and we have enjoyed working on the game for the past year. We knew it was a very ambitious project from the start and that it would be a long shot to get it made, but we are happy that we have made an attempt.

We would like to thank everyone who have backed the Kickstarter and everyone who has followed Freebooter over the past year. We have been overwhelmed by the attention Freebooter has gotten and we are sorry we could not give you a chance to play it. In the end Freebooter proved too ambitious, but we will keep making games. Once again, thank you all for your support.

Sincerely,
Johannes, Jakob and Nissanthen, Tribunal Games.

Omg, pirates, and ships! AND FORTRESS!
I love this kind of games, specially the ones that leaves the player choose his own path.
Looking foward for it.

Amazing game, can't wait to play it! Do you plan to add a fleet system? I'd love to have some merchant ships and escort them, or just get as many warships as I can and go hunting.

Thanks!

We've talked about it but there's a lot of stuff we want to have in before fleets - they might make it in sometime tho.

this looks absolutely wonderful. I can't wait.

So what's up with awesome indie games and being made with the Unity engine?

Unity allows you to get a prototype of your game up and running fast, it´s free unless you want fancy features or you are making a considerable amount of money, and you can see changes you make in the game immediately (without having to recompile the code base). There are disadvantages but for us at least they are heavily out weighed by the benefits.

Thanks for the kind words!

I like what I see so far! Love the art style and setting. Always wanted to build my own pirate ship and sail the seas as “Grim Inko, King of the Pirates”. Make it happen! :)
