Animals of Rex

Farm Animals:

Farmers and their animals will be an integral part of the economy of the world of Rex. So far this includes cows, pigs, goats, sheep, donkeys and horses (though horses are also found in the wild, as we shall see). Those will be raised and herded by peasants in order to obtain various goods. When owning farmland you will be able to order your serfs and therefore manage that process.

Wild Animals

A great variety of wild animals will be present in the wilderness of Rex; including bison, horses, deer, plains and snow wolves, rams, foxes and tigers. All of them can be hunted by the player for meat and fur, providing good supplies for armies on the march, whilst predators such as wolves, foxes and tigers will be actively hunting prey like deer or bison. Additionally, the player will be able to catch wild horses roaming around the plains of Rex, if you've recently lost yours and wish you had a faster way to reach your intended destination or simply can't afford the price asked for by your town's horse merchant, but of course you'll have to trap your new horse or run him down first...

Pets

Players will be able to acquire pets throughout their journey in the world of Rex. Those will act as loyal companions adventuring and possibly fighting alongside the player. As of now the only available pet is a German Shepherd, though more will probably be added as we go along.

I see some people posting that this game is basically the same as Mount&Blade with only a few minor differences. In its current state, I have to admit that I agree. Even the combat looks like an earlier iteration of M&B. What are the developers planning to do that will differentiate this game from M&B?

The combat system is similar to MB, but the game world is totally different and there is a supernatural theme to the game(Heaven Vs. Hell) kind of like in the Painkiller series of games.

Hi everyone! It's been a LONG while since I logged into IndieDB, just to let everyone know I'll be doing an update soon, been working hard on MANY new changes and improvements to Fortis Rex, so this will probably be a big update. We're going to release the demo to everyone soon.

@ Bigpanther12

1.will yiu be haveing a free alpha or beta availble to everyone soon?
2.will the world be empty or will it contain intresting things to find like dungeons, shrines etc...
3.will it have other things to fight otger than men like monster and stuff?
4.if not will there be lots of diffrentv types of men to fight(like mages with magic or something)?
5.will you need a ultra powerfull pc to play it and getv good fps?

Thank you for your support of Fortis Rex and sorry for the late reply!

1. The beta will be given to all Kickstarter supporters May 29 2013, however we are thinking about releasing a limited arena demo to IndieDB supporters
2. The world will be populated with TONS of stuff to do, but It'll take us some time to get that done.
3. There are no monsters in Fortis Rex, just humans, comparable to the Mount and Blade series.
4. Fortis Rex is a realistic Medieval world, but with a few fantasy elements, which makes it a low-fantasy RPG
5. You will need decent specs to crank up the visual details and get a massive number of troops in battle.
