Post news Report RSS New Fortis Rex Barter System

Today we're showing our newly developed barter system. It is a drag and drop inventory system seen in many RPGs.

Here is our next Fortis Rex content video everyone, it shows the newly developed barter system and part of our dialogue system, specifically developed for Fortis Rex Rise Of The King. When you mouse over an item you get a name, description, and gold value of the item. You can sell or buy in quantities of One, Ten, or All. This is an improvement over many RPGs, because in some of the most popular ones, items are added to your inventory individually, and you have to drag and drop endless times to sell just a few items. In the games that have inventory quantity, intuitive interfaces are lacking, and usually don't have a very large quantity selection system. There is also an intuitive sorting system that allows for quick selling and buying of specific items. Here is the video to check out, and by the way our next video will chronicle the combat system and combat in general!

The dialog looks not very good. I mean, if you zoomed his face out a bit, so it won't take over the whole screen, it would look better.

I was going for an Oblivion styled dialogue system, and the face will be improved(Work In Progress), but thank you for the reply! And if you've ever played Oblivion sometimes(depending on the lighting) the face would look terrible. Thanks again! If you have anything else just let me know. What did you think of barter?

Well, yeah, oblivion had some terrible faces.
Barter is nice, having buttons to filter different types of gear is cool, since in RPGs sometimes your inventory just gets swarmed with all kinds of stuff. Liked the buttons to sell more than one - so many games forget about this simple buttons and make players sell like 50 junk items one-by-one.

Well a lot of people disliked the Oblivion barter system, FYI.

Oh yea I know and I'm one of them. I've learned from Oblivion and several other games how to not make a bad barter system, but it's really all up to the user whether or not its bad.
