Hello, I would like a refund please, how do I go about this?
The game does not launch on Linux Ubuntu 64-bit. I tried on 12.04, and just updated to 12.10. I did a 'verify files' from inside Desura. I also reset my computer a few times. The hardware is more than capable.

Forceline requires a couple of libraries to run.

First install them by opening a terminal and run:
sudo apt-get install libsdl1.2-debian libsdl1.2-mixer libsdl1.2-image

If you can't get the 64bit version to run, install the 32bit libraries for Ubuntu 12.04:
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs

Then install the 32bit version of Forceline, and play.

None of those return any results. And this is why I hate Linux. I'll be reinstalling the game as soon as I get Windows 7 back.

Just saw the update. I guess I should follow up to this. I got Win7 back a long time ago, played the game. Made it into the second level but I kept getting destroyed, I realized this game is mostly a memorization puzzle. I enjoyed it though, good challenge. I'll play it again after this update installs.

The first levels are easier so you get to know the game a little bit better before it gets harder.

It's all about switching your army units and keeping them alive, picking up the potions with the unit that has lowest health and using the mass heal when most needed.
Tip: Army units with shields take less damage from arrows than those without. ;)

I like the retro graphics, but *wow* this looks like an amazing concept.

Actually.... :) I think it looks great! I have a thing for side scrollers. Looking forward to a demo to try it out. Looks nice, fun, and boy, I love the musician(s) and flag bearer in the party. Looks promising.

This is what A retro game would have looked like if they had 4 million color displays, and super high resolution monitors back in the 1980's.

unfortunately they did not have any of those back in the 1980's, so rather than looking "retro" it is simply poorly made.

You guys need to choose wheather you want blocky graphics or high colors. You cant mix both. Blocky-graphics should be low color, and High color sprites should be high resolution.

Also, Tile based games usually had a "look" about them because they where usually made up of hundreds of tiles that where the same size.

Reminded me of the old Trojan game from Capcom from the screenshot. Going to buy this tonight and give it a test run.

Meh. I kind of see where you're coming from, however the statement that "you can't mix both" is a subjective statement from of your personal taste, and is clearly not everyone's opinion! Dungeons of Dredmor sports a similar art style, and thousands of people love that game (as do I). Do I think there are prettier games? Sure. Trine 2 is about a gorgeous as it comes, and I'm sure Matriarch would agree with that statement! However, a highly-produced style may not work here (in particular, realistic gore would wreck the charm of the game). The graphics are endearing, and look good enough to not interefere with gameplay, and, as I'm sure you're aware, games like this are ALL about the gameplay mechanics! So, I assume, that's why you're going to buy it & give it a test run, yes? I hope it passes the "wallclock" test! I'm also interested in checking it out...

Thanks you for your comment!
Whether you actually thought it to be amazing or poorly made?

Actually there is only 52 colours used in the entire game.
Yes, we wanted a retro look but not "to" retro and the resolution is alot higher than a 1980:game for obvious reasons.
What we sought was a design we liked and hopefully was inspiring to a lot of gamers.
