A single-player 2D action RPG. Flare is not a reimplementation of an existing game or engine. It is a tribute to and exploration of the action RPG genre.

i dont know how to loot dead enemys how
Class! Pure class! This game is absolutely brilliant. Better than Torchlight II or whatever. Can't wait another version.
i have high hopes for this game,
Thus far, I have not tried the magic or melee combat, but the smaller life pool at the start is a nice change versus other ARPGs. And it gave me a Dark Souls vibe when I was risking getting hit.
Playing as an archer feels smooth though, and the piercing attack at level 1 does offer a chance to herd/file enemies and risk hitting more than one versus run back and fill them all with shots.
Looking forward to seeing how this develops.
Interesting game, shows a lot of promise. Had trouble starting at first, but I solved it by trying to start the game from a console, which returned that files were missing, finding which packages contained the files, and installing them. For me the missing files were libsdl-mixer1.2, and libsdl-ttf2.0-0
This Was Really Fun!
This Could Be The Next Diablo!
Cant Wait For The Next Update!
Uhm, why would FLARE only work in Ubuntu 12.10 and not in Ubuntu 12.04? Desurium has downloaded your game but using the launcher it won't run. If I run the game manually by double-clicking the executable on /home/johndoe/.desura/games/Flare/flare then the game starts up just fine.
I don't think it's a problem with Desurium because Tremulous launches just fine.
The download shows as available for linux 32-bit. The source compiles and runs fine on x86_64 (e.g.Slackware64 14.0). Could we get the 64-bit port added to the installation list?
Can i continue the old save games on latst vr?
During Alpha not everything will carry over between versions. E.g. when we release v0.18 we have all new inventory slots (10, up from 4) so a lot of the items have to be redone.
After we hit Beta those major changes will cool down. At the same time final content will be created. Most of the current maps will be reworked to flow better and work towards a better story.
