Night Vision Mod v1.1 by Masson
Apr 8, 2013 Night Vision Mod for Far Cry 2 by Masson Full Version 0 commentsNew version of Night Vision Mod. Add new dll, screenshots and my settings.
Discover one of the most beautiful but also most hostile environments in the world, Africa. You are sent to this war-torn region to assassinate the Jackal, a mysterious arms dealer who has rekindled conflict between local warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives.
In order to fulfill your mission you will have to become a gun for hire, trapped in a war-torn African state stricken with malaria, and forced to make deals with corrupt warlords on both sides of the conflict in order to make this country your home.
Play the warring factions against each other, identify and exploit their weaknesses, and neutralize their superior numbers with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force.

I'm still waiting to start my new job so spent 5 hours today updating to v1.1
There are some big changes in v1.1 over v1.0. There is now a config.txt file that once setup per installation instructions will execute console commands upon launch. These are tweaks and adjustments to prevent in-game setting conflicting with the mod.
Secondly, there has been an overhaul to the HDR so the extremes shouldn't be so bright/dark as many users commented. The difficulty with tweaking this game is that you need to be able to show bright desert, shadowy plains and lush jungle in the viewable spectrum of light. I was able to make tweaks through SweetFX to shadow gamma that allowed me to keep the mod colourful and bright during the day but lift the darkness of the shadows and indoors. Also, the desert should not be blindingly bright anymore - still bright but you should be able to see where you are going!
Let me know thoughts!

yep thats f******* crap that the game isnt modable.
i hope someone will realease a modding SDK or something to import or export models/sounds/textures etc.
the editor of FarCry 1 was much better but is not as easy as the dunia engine sandbox editor.
but i like the dynamic of this engine
(sry for my bad english skills)
Are you really surprised? Look at who the publisher is.
guys, there are A LOT of skilled people working on the tools needed to extract and re pack the files, and understanding the files that are packed.
Dong give this game up yet.
I bet this game will soon be fully moddable (or atleast we will be able to change the sounds and textures).
Well bless them... I hope it works out well. But to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft attacks them when they eventually release it, claiming copyright or something. I've heard of publishers doing that... I think Activision was the last one I heard of who did that? They should probably keep back ups of it in several offline places to safeguard it from any attacks by Ubisoft, just to be safe. :)
just wanna say i dont like this game! i know i will get karma killed for this, imo the game is amazing, the AI is dumb and the reason i didnt play past a couple of missions.
They really need to make a mod where you can put animals in your made maps, that would be so much better and the need to make Far Cry 2 moddable
So uhm... Still no SDK? Really, I've finished the game twice, mostly completed it countless times, etc. etc. Wtf is Ubisoft thinking? This game is going to die if they don't wise up.
Really, I came here in the hopes it was modifiable by now. After playing the singleplayer for some hours I have quite a few ideas that would improve the game in my opinion. No big changes either.
Hmm, really? Didn't play Far Cry 2, but I'm disappointed that AC1 & AC2 don't/won't have SDKs, either. (I.e. they won't be easily moddable.)
Does Ubisoft give them at all?
**** off
