You are sent to war-torn Africa to assassinate The Jackal, a mysterious arms dealer who has rekindled conflict between local warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. In order to fulfil your mission you will have to play the warring factions against each other, identify and exploit their weaknesses, and neutralize their superior numbers with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force.
This is my entry for Alienware's map making contest. It will be entered in the Nostalgia category. My first map "Upperhand" puts the APR and UFFL on opposite sides of the map but on "unequal" terrain. The UFFL have the the "upperhand" here since they, being on top of a mountain, have a height advantage. The base features palm trees and colonial type buildings, quite the vacation spot I think. On the other hand, the APR like it rough style with huts and jungles, plenty of places to hide and ambush enemies. There are multiple routes that can be taken to reach the opposing team's base. Multiple roads lead up to the mountain but they are heavily guarded with enemy outposts/respawn points. Swimming or using boats to cross the lake is also an option. This map is fairly large as I used almost all the usable space as the play area. It supports all gamemodes but it was originally optimized for Capture the Diamond. Thanks all and have fun! I think you took the wrong screen shot, its actually not half bad.
