Pacman style map with grass to light the maze on fire. Tested with 2 people over LAN, and it is great fun.

Not a very hard map to actually make geometry for, but a tricky one to try and make it interesting.
Most would think that making a map interesting means that you have to add lots of objects and details, which I tried, but it just didn't really feel like the pacman maze, so instead of lots of objects cramming the corridoors, I decided to just fill it with grass instead and play with some fire to see how it all works out.
Then I tested it on the local network with a friend of mine and it was really fun and hectic, even just the 2 of us. Once the grass is on fire, you get cut off from areas and it really works well for an escape plan, unfortunately, the one problem with fire is that it does spread through the walls, even when i deleted grass from inside the walls it still blows across but it's not that bad.
Anyway, all you pacman loving people, ENJOY!
Give feedback aswell please :)
However I probably won't go back to working on it as it's not a GREAT map.
quite interesting, though the fire should get annoying i would think. walk along and then all around you fire, and your only 2 escape routes are completely blocked off by more fire.
lol, well, nobody ever said war was easy :P
It would be a bit of a problem, BUT, as I said in the description, it's better than filling the place with random objects, or having no grass at all ;)
It doesn't matter anyway, it's just a quick throw together map for people who liked pacman :P
what if you threw in a bridge across the whole thing, to emulate the teleport corners?
hmmm, could work, but people would just run around on the walls, I was gonna put corridoors all the way around the outside attached to those 2 end points but I figured that it wasn't really a serious map attempt, and the 2 teleport points serve well as capture points anyway.
I won't be working on this map anymore.
aww okay then :P and i understand fully what you mean there... blocking off all the walls would be a pain and might impact the frame rate.
it's real fun though :D
haha, it's actually a really good maze for a small frantic fps game this pacman map is :P
Funny how these old games have such great designs, since the focus wasn't really on graphics at the time, it was all gameplay back then.
Just play tested the map 1vs1 on a LAN match and it was pretty nuts, especially when someone sets the grass on fire and all the ammo crates start blowing up left right and center :P
