With nuclear apocalypse looming over the world, several vaults were constructed to contain the best and brightest of humanity. By being shielded from the imminent death, the offspring of these people could reclaim and repopulate the Earth. However, before the entire network could be completed, nuclear war broke out. One of the vaults became militaristic and technology-driven. Using their superior weapons, they were able to claim the surrounding wasteland. The members of this vault formed the Brotherhood of Steel, an organization dedicated to unlocking new and better technologies.

The open world part sounds cool, but I need to know more about this mod before I download it, especially as it's labelled as the "ultimate rip off mod".

I called it 'the ultimate rip off mod' because I 'ripped off' all of my favorite movies/stories/pop-culture/politics etc and put it into my mod.
There is a whole 'HEAT' story line (as in the movie 'Heat' with Robert Deniro and Al Pacino). And that's just one small part-- I don't want to give too many spoilers, but give it a try... If you liked Fallout Tactics, you WILL like it even more now! So much to do.

-Enjoy a career as a professional Fighter
-Get married and buy a home
-join a political faction
-Become a porn star or Doctor

Real legit thing. I downloaded it yesterday. Didn't have time to try it, but it seems a lot of work has been put into this huge project. Congratulations for making it available to all I am very glad this comes to exist!

Well, you have to finish the first mission, then you can go anywhere. Don't forget, you are a Brotherhood of Steel soldier, you are obligated to at least finish the first mission you are recruited for. Then you can go AWOL.

I clicked on both links on the page and a virus alert popped up I had no other pages open at all. I was using Edge/Avast the attack virus does seem to have been removed now so fancy that...

Well your mod is not really a good place too start one's very first attempt at the game. I will go back too vanilla and come back too the mod at a later date.

Seems like you have played FOT before no ?

The only way the link could be compromised is if somebody at DAC or NMA with admin level access to edit posts etc actually tampered with it. I don't want to believe that anyone there would try to ruin the gaming community.

Here's my two theories:

A)You are lying and I think you just came here to **** on me and sabotage me.

or

B)You are telling the truth about virus and someone at NMA is sabotage me.

I checked the link again there is no virus.

C'mon guys play the mod and at least get to Fortress city.

Lot's of stuff to do in my mod, and hey, If you hate questing, then there is a survival mode too, but I want to wait a bit to see if somebody can find it on thier own, before I spoils it.

Thanks for releasing this material. There's loads of stuff in here, and I can see you spent a lot of effort developing this. Sure, it could use a lot of polish, but as you've noted yourself your main concern at this point was just to get the material out there for others to enjoy.

I've been playing a bit, and appreciate both the maps and the basic plot points I've seen so far at various locations. At the moment, I have two suggestions:

1) The "invisible undead" (waiting to be unleashed later) are a problem for those trying to play in turn-based mode because you put them all on teams preset as hostile to the player-characters. This is the old/well-known "invisible enemies attack" bug. With some additional work, you could set these not-yet-active enemies on a friendly team, and use a trigger to then change the team matrix to hostile at the appropriate time.

2) Players should be warned in advance to do as much as they can on the first visit to the new locations, as these are all subject to the "exit grids may fail to work on second or later visits to non-core misssions" bug. This got me at the Chili Clan, and I had to replay about two hours to get back to where I was. Though this bug cannot be entirely fixed, its frequency can be reduced, and in a mod with so many new locations you may want to look into that (take a look at SE triggers in FOT Redux to see how I've minimized this issue).

One other thing you may want to do if you have time is add a variable check on the Chili map, so that if all the enemies are dead, the scripted jail sequence is prevented from occurring (otherwise, all kinds of problems break the whole thing).

Overall, you've made a fine effort on this mod, and I look forward to continuing to explore what the material has to offer.

Endocore, sorry I didn't respond earlier.

1) I never played in turnbased mode, so I never really thought about why it was happenening, but thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely implement your fix in a future version. It may take a while to fix every map though...

2) I think chili clan is the only map that had the problem of not preserving the exit trigger. However I fixed that in version 0.891 (I think... forsure in Version 0.892)

You really should upgrade at xkcon.net.

I will give moddb a newer version.

Aha, so you killed them all, and then entered cell... I didn't think about that. I'll look into fixing it at well.
