Equestrian Terrors is a MLP:FIM inspired survival horror game. It's planned to be episodic, with each episode being a self-contained story that does not follow any linked main story line. The game will be heavily focused on escaping rather than combat, however there will be instances where you can slow down and impede enemies as you attempt to do so.

The following was an April Fools joke.
Well, guys, I'm finally going to call it. This is it. Equestrian Terrors is dead. It's finished. It's gone. Particularly because I erased it so I had enough room to download my pre-order of Elder Scrolls Online. Wish I could say it was because of some hard-drive crash or something, but let's be honest, we all knew this project wasn't going anywhere. I mean, just look at the images. It's clear we're just a bunch of idea guys with no capability of implementing any of them.

If you need me, I'll be playing Elder Scrolls Online for the rest of my life. Have a final goodbye trailer though:

In real news, we're upgrading to Unreal 4! I decided to fork over the $19 for early access, and man, I tell you, I am not disappointed. I thought porting everything over would be a lot like starting over from scratch, but everything is sooo much easier in Unreal 4. I can hardly describe how excited I am to start implementing the ideas I hadn't quite worked out how to do in UDK. I can also package both developer and public versions of the game with amazing speed rather than it being such an ordeal as it was in UDK. Plus the navigation mesh is much more polished, and well, the list goes on. This is definitely going to speed things up!

Thanks for staying with us!

Interesting enough. I'll be happily awaiting for updates on the conversion to Unreal 4, I've seen a few other games on this site using that engine and goddamn they look good.

Best of luck!

By the way, a question. I reckon people needed to pay a certain amount of money to acquire an Unreal License, I have no idea whether that goes only with games that requires purchase or if it also goes for non-profitable games (So correct me if I'm wrong), assuming its the latter, how will you guys cope with that?

And another, the game will be using assets from Hasbro's franchise, do you guys have any plan to avoid a C&D? I don't want to get hyped for something only to watch it crumble in an instant just like what happened to Fighting is Magic. Hopefully, things will go well, just like it is with Legends of Equestria!

Oh, and I think you'll want to change the "Developed By" part if you're still using the name "Party Hard Productions" (Creative name BTW).

I've been having some discussions with Twitch and I think The C&D can be avoided if people are fine with us changing the characters names and slightly altering their appearance. So far we haven't used any official MLP assets, so I think we'll be okay. I still have to talk over a few more things with Twitch before we can be certain, though I do believe we will be changing "MLP:FiM themed" to "MLP:FiM inspired".

@Sleufoot Yeah, I've been thinking you're probably right. We'll go ahead and do something like that as an extra precaution. We'll talk about it a bit later.

But trust us when we say they'll still be recognizable. We're not talking OC status here, but you should probably expect some small silly changes.

As for licensing, for UDK if it was free you could distribute it however you wanted with no license, but it's a bit different for Unreal 4. I paid the $19 to get early access, but I only really skimmed the license agreement. My understanding is that you can make whatever you want and you just pay royalties if you sell the product, which we're not going to do anyway.

If that changes, I don't mind paying the $99 for an indie license, I've got the money. Even in that case I would still make the game free. Basically we're not going to have any Unreal licensing issues.
