Engines of War brings you nonstop Real Time Tactics action from the first second of the game: You are the pilot of one of the massive combat vehicles known as "Engines". Lead it (and lesser units) into battle together with your team - and destroy your enemies and their base! Engines is inspired by DotA's gameplay, but freely redistributable and modifiable content on the Spring Engine.

Notice:
You may have noticed 83.0 never went live. It had some crucial bugs dragon in it, which absorbed all dev power. But at the end the dragon was slew and the princess is safe.
Release Message
Yeah, it was long ago that Spring 0.82 was released. 1 year, 2 months & 23 days to be precise or just 449 days. Much water ran down the rivers. Tunisia, Egypt & Libya freed themselves from their despots. Nuclear power mocked official estimates of risk probability again. Duke Nukem Forever was released. Pigs learned to fly.
And now: 84.0 finally gets released!
Again, thanks everyone for your contributions!
This time, special thanks go to SpliFF for his ASSIMP implementation and daftalx for his MacOSX ambitions & supplying us a buildbot client for it.

It's also the first release with a (experimental) MacOSX build.
For the time being you can either use an experimental SpringLobby build here or weblobby.
Major changes:
Look really good.
Game development is now "On Hold" until Sean or another dedicated lua coder steps up to play. I have the game resources, but I am not interested in completing this project alone. If any one is interested send me an email or PM.
There is a small possibility that Sean will return, but I have not heard any word from him for quite awhile. He told me he lost interest in finishing the game in its original plan, but he did mention interest in working on releasing a playable version; however no further communication followed.
Things are looking better..
Gentlemen, have there been any recent advancements? I heard worrisome things from Bob.
There will probably, be a news release on the matter when Sean has time to gather his thoughts.
just quickly wondering, 1. are there going to be resources and unit training and building. and 2. are you going to be some form of squad leader or a standard spring rts prospective?
I should let Sean explain it, but short answer no. EoW is not planned to be a contemporary RTS per say, but more of a real time tactics game with heavy elements of team play. Your resources aren't mined/ harvested but are earned through combat and team work. You don't really build a base or construct units to command, instead your Engine (mech like unit) is spawned, and you have team mate Engines and AI forces that support you in battle. You won't command several units at once and instead focus on your engine and the team's position in the battle. It is still being discussed on how much influence players will have in suggestive AI commands, such as requesting orders but not actively giving them.
THIS LOOKS EXTREMELY GOOD. me being a mech fan just makes me **** over this.
lol i can deal with someone liking mech a lot but jizzing!? lol lt.romic you're crazy comrade ha ha
Yeah. Make sure you enable scripts.
