When I read through the description in the group update a few days back I was impressed at the concept, but thrown back a little when I realized that you were "just" doing a side-scroller out of this. I would think that the concept has more potential than that, but of course it's your decision, and there should be enough folks out there that will really enjoy playing a game like this.

Mc_Intire I appreciate your honesty and opinion on my decision to make this game a sidescroller. But there are a few reasons why.
1. multiplayer and unlockable content for co-op and versus mode
2. Casual gaming
3. budget - I am a 23 year old entrepreneur funding this game and trying to make the most out of a great concept. If this should ever turn out to be a successful first product for my company then Encore! wont be the last game I'll be producing.

Well I'll just watch the project and see what you make out of it, since there is no way to tell how it'll really turn out at this point. But you've got lots of work in front of you if you really want your project stand out from the masses and you'll probably need more than your nice fighting concept to achieve that.

If you manage to do so I'll wait for your entrance at the modDb 2009 awards.

Hi Mc_Intire, Slim from the dev team here. You are absolutely right that we've got an awful lot of work ahead of us. Making a production like this work out so that all of the visual styles and gameplay mechanics are pleasing to the player audience requires a lot of painstakingly detailed oriented work. However, our dev team has professional experience developing & releasing AAA games. So we understand what it really means to be in a game project for the long term and know how handle the complex issues that are associated with it.

Constructive criticism like yours is necessary for us to iterate to an awesome game, so keep it coming.

Just don't forget that visual style and gameplay are only 2/3 of the full product.

So, what, this is 'Guitar Hero, the action game' or something?

>.>; No seriously, it sounds awesome but doesn't this seem a bit... far-fetched?

Then again I guess those Anime fans'll be running all over this in a few months eh?

Whelp, I'll keep looking out for this to see if it gets more interesting.

If it's possible, I wish you could add canon song in this game.
