Dominate the 18th century on land and sea. Command the seas, control the land, forge a new nation, and conquer the globe. Empire: Total War takes the Total War franchise to the eighteenth century Age of Enlightenment — a time of political upheaval, military advancements, and radical thought.

Hi all,

Here is the Preview of the late Saxon army. The late Saxon army was reformed several times after the catastrophic events in 1757. Towards the end of the 18th century the Saxons used the Prussian army as their role model in drill and organisation. Still the uniforms and regiments stayed in the tradition the army of Augustus the Strong.

I dreamed a dream that this or the modified Napoleon total war engine could be injected with some real time strategy, and could one day become either a new Cossacks game or perhaps a very advanced Age Of Empires game, i know lots of people would want that as a standalone game.

I rate the game with 72% the lowest I ever rated Total War games. Good number of the thing they talked about before the game came out never really came out. Like it was to have a MP campaign right off the bat... just happens that a beta for that came out a little bit ago. AI isn't really up to par to most other games. A lot of odd things eat at the base of the game.

Need money attack pirates and you be fine... leave a cannon in the open the AI will send everything after it even at the same time getting shot up by a cross fire. Countries go to war with no logic really behind the action.

The game needed about 2 or so months of work(that is without the MP campaign).

The Creative Assembly cares about is making money. Selling DLC and a new game with the same stuff as the older game that came out a year ago.

If you don't own this game or pre-ordered the add-on pack, wait until there is a steam sale for $20-30.

The game isn't broken at all, which is why it is #7 on the top played Steam games. It is a very well made game, it could still use some optimization but the AI is good as it is. Of course the AI sucks in the pirated versions and the demo. I personally bought the game myself when it first came out and I am not unhappy about it at all. I've been playing Total War since Shogun and I still don't see what the big fuss is about. If you asked me it's nothing but a bunch of spoiled little babies soiling their diapers. Sure the game started out on the crappy side when it first released, but that's not the developers fault, that is due to the publisher. I personally never expect to see a perfectly patched game upon release. Releasing a bug-free game is nearly impossible unless major amounts of time and money are spent, which most developers have none, and instead using money given by the publisher who calls the shots. Game development isn't cheap and publishers will spend anywhere from $20,000,000-$60,000,000 on making just one game. It's likely that SEGA was feeling pressure from the economy and was running low on money so they decided that the best course of action to continue game development on multiple projects would be to sell something as big as Empire Total War early. The publishers need money and when they say release a game now, you better release it so they can make money. It's not like Creative Assembly left the game unpatched while the publishers were milking money from it.

I personally give the game a 10/10.

loved this game, couldn't get enough of it. for all those who bitched about "spending money on a bad game" well if you don't like it thats your own damn fault, thats kinda why they make demos eh?

you're full of crap, I've played all the total war demos and they never reflect upon what the actual game is.

I liked Empire: Total was but didn't feel it was worth 50 dollars...

It's a decent game, but the AI is not challenging at all. For long time TW fans its a big let down, but for people that are new to the series I can see why they like it.

i find the campaign AI all right but OMG lauch naval invasions for crying out loud! as for the battlefield one its pretty easy but i fail at them so its fine for me but i can see it becoming boring just lining your grenadiers behind the enemy lines and blowing them all to pieces every time cause they wont turn around.
