You should have acted. They're already here. The Elder Scrolls told of their return. Their defeat was merely delay until the time after Oblivion opened, when the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood. But... there is one they fear. In their tongue he is Dovahkiin; Dragon Born!

The main modding tool for Skyrim, the Creation Kit, will be released in January 2012.

Posted by Antiscamp on Dec 1st, 2011

Bethesda has now confirmed that the main modding tool for The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim, the Creation Kit, will be available from January 2012. "PC players will be able to download the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim", Bethesda confirms. They are currently also working on tutorial videos and a new Wiki to support the modding tool and get the modders going with information.

Bethesda also speaks of an integration of the modding tool with Steam Workshop, which means modders will be able to upload their mods to the Steam service and anyone can then download and update them from there. You will still be able to upload your work to the traditional modding websites, like ModDB.

Read more about this on Bethesda's Blog or on the Official Elder Srolls Forum.

Skyrim shall live forever. Like its great predecessors Morrowind and Oblivion. There's still some really good stuff being modded for both the older games.

Why do you need to do that? Just don't marry one of your own gender, if it troubles you.

isn't the whole point of modding to make changes that we as individuals think would improve games?
there are people who think homosexual marriage is not anything that they'd want in their games. me being one of them.
if that offends anybody then oh well, don't download that mod.

only those stupid americans refuse to believe everything that they are told to believe by their televisions, huh mr cyberslave?

here is something that you don't want to hear but i'm going to tell you any way because you are to stupid to go away when ignored.

2,000 years of the most cherished beliefs of western civilization have been erased in less than fifty years by the box in all of our living room's.

every thing that you believe in has been planted into your head by those who control your box.

and just for your information, i don't speak for all americans, just like you don't speak for all the people of your country. whatever country that is, because you choose to attack mine by stealth.

Who the even watches TV anymore lol.

2,000 years of cherished beliefs have been erased not solely because of ****-sexuality. Straight people are equally if not more so to blame for this fact. Yes ****-sexuality is uncomfortable, and I do take issue with many of them going out of their way to be openly in your face about it, but those who behave like normal citizens shouldn't be subjected to public ridicule, there is nothing wrong with what they are doing, they are just trying to establish themselves much in the same way as the rest of us.

In the end its a game that's trying to cater to everyone, this is an option for the player if they choose it, you don't need to mod this out it accomplishes nothing because you can just ignore it. It is purely optional.

i never said anything was homosexuals fought.

we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this topic. it's not like either of us are going to change our minds.

i want a mod that removes it, you don't, no biggie.

I would not mind doing a higher res mesh mod, just feel some meshes could be smoothed out a bit in places or get a little bit more 3d detail. Not sure if it can be done now (textures only?), but going to check the tools out anyway, maybe make myself a fortress on a mountain peak.

I wonder if anyone is going to recreate Cyrodil or maybe other areas from previous games. And of course an unofficial patch would be great too.

There are already several retextures out there. Also, I've seen on the official forums, that there are actually groups getting together right now to recreate the entire landmass of Tamriel, including Cyrodiil. That will be an exciting project to be following.

Looking forward to it with fearful hesitation. I don't want to get my hopes knowing Bethesda's knack for making the least intuative and user friendly editing software known to man since the days of Morrowind.

However, if Bethesda is telling the truth about their complete overhaul and they actually managed to make something that doesnt require you to be either a part of their staff or a computer science major then I look forward to their world editor. But again, this is Bethesda. Expecting THAT kinda overhaul after 10 years (and I lost track of how many games) is like expecting EA & Activision to grow souls (LoL?).
