The coming days and weeks are going to be crammed full of news, and we are excited to share the first few items of that today. Firstly, we have just released a brand new, much more polished launcher. We hope this will be the final time we have to update it, but either way we are very happy with how the new version has turned out. Everyone will be able to update automatically via patch, so no need to worry about re-downloading the game. To note, some users may need to download the latest version of C++ redistributable.

To make that easier, we have included a download link in our forum thread for the new launcher, found
We would also like to let everyone know that time is quickly running out now for the pre-order prices and offers. Be sure to get in and get the game now to still be entitled to a Steam key when we launch on Early Access!

Once we are selling on Steam, copies purchased on Desura or RainDG will no longer come with a Steam key.Since launch on EA is looming closer, we will be releasing details soon for how to obtain and redeem Steam keys for all of our pre-order and Kickstarter customers. We know everyone is plenty anxious to start playing through Steam, and we are so excited to be getting so close! It still feels so surreal to the team, watching all of the work we've done over the last year come to this point.Keep an eye on the forums and community, there is plenty more news on the horizon! Stay awesome, ArkCo Operatives, and we'll see you next time for ArkCo News!

Are updates still coming to Desura? I hope you don't just concentrate on Steam nowadays.

That is indeed true. We were losing extensive amounts of dev time trying to keep up with multiple builds. For that reason we chose full Steam integration. The good news is, that allows for offline play, and for us to have disposed of the extra login.

Is there currently a way for me to modify textures in the game? At the moment I feel like the textures of tiles make the game a bit hard to read visually, and I would like to play around with the contrast of these textures to see if I can make it work better for me.
Is this possible at the moment, or would I have to wait for the post-release mod support?

It isn't currently possible, no. It could become possible with modding support later on, but I'm not sure yet to what extent the modding tools will go. I just know that we intend to make it as easy as possible.

richt, as we explained but maybe it did not get here. We have shed our 3rd party launcher software in an attempt to regain XP support but it's still a work in progress. Understand that we lost XP support due to things outside of our control.

We are moving int he direction of getting it back though, it's a bit harder to test because we are still waiting on setting up a machine with XP to test on. Please bare with us.

Refunds are not handled by our team, you need to contact Desura about it. XP support broke during one of the updates, we haven't given up on getting it working again. We can't promise that it will, because it is no longer supported by Microsoft either. All we can do is our best, and hopefully Desura customer service can handle your request smoothly.

Edge of Space is already a fantastic game, and getting better every day. The amount of progress since Day 1 beta back in June is absolutely staggering, and I can't wait to watch it get even better

Not really impressed by this so far, I think I might stick with starbound when it comes out soon, since the developers are already almost going to release it soon! This game wasn't much of a bang for your buck and wish I didn't spend the money.
