This has been an incredible week for us here at Handyman. We did it!! We got through Greenlight! To say that we were all completely shockedby the announcement is an understatement, it's still just sinking in for the team. Needless to say, we've been busier than ever, but it's anamazing feeling! We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone that voted for Edge of Space and supported us, we owe this all to you. The best is still yet to come, and it's wonderful to see the even more rapidgrowth in the community now!
Our celebrations haven't slowed us down, and we are working hardto complete work on the Rebirth patch and get it out to our players. We will be showing plenty of it on tonight's Livestream, so if youaren't around at 7PM EST, be sure to catch the recording of it! We can honestly say this takes Edge of Space to a whole new level. There is very little we've left untouched, and we are very excited to hear the community's thoughts on what we've done. This is a tiny glimpse of just oneof MANY exciting changes to the game.
As long as we don't blow up the labs, everyone will be exploring the new patch in the next week or two. We know it's been a long wait, but it will be well worth it. We very much appreciate everyone's patience over this last month. It's awesome to have such a supportive community! On the community side of things, we definitely want to encourage everyone to come to the forums and get involved. Come and hang out in the IRC and meet us! We are always happy to see new faces, and answer questions about the game. Stay awesome you guys, and we'll see you next time for the ArkCo Weekly News!

Edge of Space is already a fantastic game, and getting better every day. The amount of progress since Day 1 beta back in June is absolutely staggering, and I can't wait to watch it get even better

Not really impressed by this so far, I think I might stick with starbound when it comes out soon, since the developers are already almost going to release it soon! This game wasn't much of a bang for your buck and wish I didn't spend the money.

I gotta ask one more thing: Is this game controller enabled ? I find platformers a bit hard to play on mouse+KB sadly. Btw, I have a 360 controller.
You heard it from the engineer, we plan on making it controller enabled, we are just waiting till farther in development to do so.
We do plan on having 360 controller support, but only 360 controllers because they are very easy to setup, just havent gotten around to binding all of the buttons as that is pretty low priority :)
Right now in the beta, it isn't controller enabled. Down the road, when we start tackling keybinding and things of that sort its definitely something that people want and that we are likely to support.
Also, I don't find your post offensive, you just wanna know some facts about the game since it is still under development. Thank you for taking interest!
1: Not including special micro biomes, currently there are 5 major biomes. (We plan to add more in the future but want to keep focused as a very small team)
2: This is a harder question as some of it is intrinsic to the genre but there can be more leaning. The game will have a more (man/woman) vs Nature feel. Especially since your first MEGA goal of the game is to terriform/biostabialize the entire world.
3: We are working on the logistics about steam keys. There is always hidden red tape to deal with and it is under major discussion.
If you get the game, please come out and hang in the IRC and take part in the community. We want to be a community driven experience and we listen a lot. At the moment I'm still recovering from a pretty nasty flu, but normally I hang out int he IRC a lot. Hope I helped answer some of your questions.
Yes you answered some of your questions and the topic I favourited on steam greenlight answered my other questions, so yeah even if I'm pretty shy I'll try to show myself on IRC and forums just to play with someone, make a team and I definitely like the feel you are trying to create :) and thank you for your time answering!
Now I just wonder how much time would it be for steam to acknowledge this piece of jewel, I might wait to buy it until it pops on steam to avoid the matter of cd keys (I like to have all my games on steam), any idea of the ETA? If it takes too long I just buy it on Desura and the hell with it xD
Go forth and bring forth more greenlight votes. We are in the top 40, so the more votes we get the more votes we get the faster we can get set up to get in the future game pulls
Steam doesn't give any kind of ETA, its just whenever they feel it's gotten enough attention. As for keys, regardless of where you purchase it, you are given the same launcher, and the game still downloads from Arkdrop.com. Multiplayer play won't be inhibited in any way regardless of where the game is purchased. It works very much like MC, and all games are player hosted. :)
Aha, thank you for your answers ^^
