At the Unity GDC 2016 Keynot, Ubisoft announced that its multiplayer virtual reality game, Eagle Flight, would be launching this year. Set in a post-apocalyptic Paris in which all humans have disappeared, players control an eagle from first-person as their soar through the desolate, reclaimed environment.
The game will contain singleplayer challenges, but will focus on its 3v3 multiplayer mode, in which players attempt to avoid each other while flying around.
UploadVR went hands-on with Eagle Flight, and came away impressed with its unique system of movement. As eagles, players are in constant forward motion, but they tilt their heads so that the VR system's positional tracking can translate that movement into the eagle's turns and banks. The further you tilt your head, the more your field of view compresses.
Eagle Flight will be launching this year, for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR.
