Dungeon Buster is a classic 2D action adventure game inspired by the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and the early Final Fantasy games.
It's been a tough few weeks since my last update; other things got in the way of Dungeon Buster, but I'm happy to report that development is back on track! Read on to see what's been happening.

Okay! Dungeon Buster is back on track after a few weeks of downtime. Other things just kept taking my attention away from the game, but with the release of a crucial update for Construct 2, development has been kicked into high gear and has moved on significantly since the last news post.
Puzzles
Adventure Mike is a name you'll come to severely despise in this game. He is the arrogant former adventurer who opened "Adventure Mike's Academy for Adventurers" and resultantly used his students to do his dirty work. His academy shop peddles various wares for the budding adventurer, but most crucial of which are "Adventure Mike's Fine Grain Revealing Saltstm". These salts are used to reveal hidden pathways across otherwise uncrossable pits, but don't expect them to come at a low price! See them in action below:

Another type of puzzle that has recently been implemented is the combination lock. You will need to find clues in the dungeon to figure out the combination and unlock whatever door/chest/secret tunnel of doom it holds shut!

Enemy Pathfinding
The enemy pathfinding in previous weeks has been a mishmash of awful hacky solutions that would eventually fall apart in certain situations. With the release of an official pathfinding behaviour for Construct 2 I was able to completely rid the game of my terrible version of pathfinding and use a streamlined version. I also implemented a line-of-sight engine into the game, allowing the enemies to behave contextually on whether or not they have a direct line-of-sight with the player. Below is an example of the enemy pathfinding; they will wander around if they don't have line-of-sight, and once they acquire it they will pursue Buster (but only if it's safe to do so, they won't follow you across hidden paths):

That is it for this update sadly, so much effort has went into brainstorming ideas yet to be implemented into the game, so expect a more wholesome update next time around.
