In other development related news, the demo production grinds ever onwards with the addition of some new environmental and atmospheric effects such as mood lighting effects.

We've added a save system into the game now too; it takes a coin from your inventory each time you save, but since every enemy in the game gives at least a few coins when killed, we imagine that people will never be without the necessary coinage to make a savegame. It works by the player approaching a small stone plint with a stone bowl of Lyff (the life force energy of Jorokiim) and tossing in a coin. A small orb rises from the Lyff fluid before dispersing, signalling that the game has been saved. Here's the work-in-progress animation for the save point:

Onward and upwards! Let us know what you think of this savegame mechanic!

Until next time.

Looks awesome! I love how you have a very original art style but still using the tried and true top down Zelda view. Great work, you have my thumbs up, I'd give you two if I could :P !
