Duke Nukem will bring his signature brand of babe-lovin', cigar-smoking, beer-chugging and ass-kicking action as he once again saves the Earth and our babes from hordes of invading aliens...next year.

2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that the long-gestating,
the say the absolute least, Duke Nukem Forever will be hitting store shelves
on May 3, 2011 in North America and on May 6, 2011 internationally.

To celebrate this announcement the companies have released two new
screenshots and a debut trailer that clocks in at a fantastic two and a
half minutes.

The big question remains that can nostalgia, hopes and dreams all be
accounted for in this much-anticipated game? Regardless of if it should
be regarded as the same title everyone has been waiting on for over a
decade, it most definitely will. Hopes and dreams are big shoes to fill.

Randy Pitchford has also announced that the next layer of the game will be peeled back sometime Late January to Early February.

Let's just say the game didn't meet it's 12 year expectation worth... at all. Linear, console and children oriented gameplay and jokes. Awfull.

I hate how people always say linearity is a bad thing. Bioshock, one of the best games of all time, was linear. Half Life was incredibly linear. Mass Effect was linear.

A common idiot's misconception. This game wasn't developed for 12 years. It went through multiple game studios, multiple stories, and multiple game engines. It was severely crippled by this, so they weren't able to make the best they could. But I do know Duke Nukem's next game will be as good as the original.

The best thing in this game was the Shrink thing.

How do you play multiplayer?

When I try it says "You must be logged in"

I launched the game using Steam and had that running in the background.

No, it's legit.
I did NOT steal it...

NVM, I logged using the in-game console and it works now...

It's a pretty cool game, finished it a second time.
I just don't liked the slow movement and the two weapon carrying limit.
Overall it's a funny game and the the multiplayer is cool aswell.

Me: It's time to kick *** and chew bubblegum.... (5 hours later) x_x I ran out of gum...
All in all, I'm okay with this. By no means, does it live up to it's ancestor... but it's still a fun game.

I got the game today. Spent 2 hours approximately with it.

This is an outrage, a total rape of the legendary gaming symbol!

Linear, uninteresting and most of all SHORT maps lacking any and all exploration and exploiting possibilities. Stupid two-weapon limitation. Regenerating health, which ended being JUST that: regenerating, very quickly regenerating at that as well, all you need to do is stay out of harms way.

The jokes are bad. NPCs are idiots. Cutscenes are bad. There's many, MANY forced turret-battle sequences, platforming events, driving sections... many unnecessary and plain infuriating things! I want to kick *** and chew bubblegum, NOT escape some insta-kill enemies with RC car! And the bosses... eh.

Good thing I only paid 30€ for this piece of horsecrap, even that is 2/3rds too much for it. You can't fix this with mods, unless you create a total REMAKE for it.

I thought this game uses Unreal Engine 2.5. The page says it uses Unreal Engine 3.

Its fun game. Not goos as Duke 3D, but still its Duke. Hope mods for this game will come out. Like remove 2 weapons limit and so on.

All the reviews are jokes and i now read them as such, i read them and laugh because they missed the entire point of this game, not only is it a nostalgia fest, but a great throw back to when shooters were longer then 4 hours, and when multiplayer was about blowing shit up, not killstreaks and attachments. Ive been enjoying this game since i bought it, and im glad i did buy it. Probly the best game on my Steam list right now, as for that LONG LOAD crap, thats consoles only, and even Gearbox themselves…
