2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that the long-gestating,
the say the absolute least, Duke Nukem Forever will be hitting store shelves
on May 3, 2011 in North America and on May 6, 2011 internationally.

To celebrate this announcement the companies have released two new
screenshots and a debut trailer that clocks in at a fantastic two and a
half minutes.

The big question remains that can nostalgia, hopes and dreams all be
accounted for in this much-anticipated game? Regardless of if it should
be regarded as the same title everyone has been waiting on for over a
decade, it most definitely will. Hopes and dreams are big shoes to fill.

Randy Pitchford has also announced that the next layer of the game will be peeled back sometime Late January to Early February.

This game might not have been in development for 14 years, but it's hype was.

People were expecting it to not living up to it's expectations of the perfect game, but they were sort of expecting it would save the FPS genre by bringing some old school action back into the industry which is currently being dominated by the terrible thing which is modern shooters (Call Of Duty style games). Instead, all people got was some generic health regen game with Duke's charm stamped into it.

It might be nice to have Duke back after all this time, it might be funny sometimes, but it's not worth the $50, the lack of modding support for an Unreal engine game, the DLC they're gonna make you pay for, and the generally awful linear shooting sequences.

Have you heard the game has a 2 Weapon limit? At every moment the game is gonna handle you infinite ammo crates and specific guns for specific situations. There's no more "Mighty Boot" (The Kick), except for quick time events. Exploration is non-existant. The ending was out-of-context and nonsensical. There's never gonna be more than 3 ~ 4 enemies on screen, all the guns (8 in total) are recycled from older Duke Nukem Titles and dumbed down (the only decent gun is the shotgun, Nothing else is worth using). The gameplay is repetitive and the puzzles the game has try to copy Half-life 2's physic ones it has driving sequences and unskipable ingame cutscenes which all serve as padding.

The games awesome simply awesome. Now all its needs is modding support and its the best game of the year. Its kick ***, its adult oriented, it has every ESRB rating you can get in the game industry, nudity, gore, drugs, sexual themes, stylized violence, crude humor, bad language... hell its focused on Duke Nukem what do you expect :D

i cant believe you bunch of pussies who listem to the piece of **** game rating sites like ign and joystick and the other followers. joystick and the others followed ign so dont complain about my post but here is a true rating, and this youtuber should become a video game rater Youtube.com I would give it atleast a rough 8.25/10 it wasnt expected to meat the 12 year expectation. i want all of you to start and make a game and get 98 percent complete and then have someone tell you that it isnt good enough and to scrap all of the work you did and use a different game engine 4 F*CK*NG times then tell me how you feel, it wasnt in dev for 12 years it has been scrapped multiple times due to stupid third parties who just had to use the latest game engine so just be glad that it was releasded in the unreal tournament 3 eng. and not something else. it has really only been in dev for 2.5 years. click on the red hyperlink to see review

Let's just say the game didn't meet it's 12 year expectation worth... at all. Linear, console and children oriented gameplay and jokes. Awfull.

I hate how people always say linearity is a bad thing. Bioshock, one of the best games of all time, was linear. Half Life was incredibly linear. Mass Effect was linear.

A common idiot's misconception. This game wasn't developed for 12 years. It went through multiple game studios, multiple stories, and multiple game engines. It was severely crippled by this, so they weren't able to make the best they could. But I do know Duke Nukem's next game will be as good as the original.

Highest Rated (7 agree) 8/10

All the reviews are jokes and i now read them as such, i read them and laugh because they missed the entire point of this game, not only is it a nostalgia fest, but a great throw back to when shooters were longer then 4 hours, and when multiplayer was about blowing shit up, not killstreaks and attachments. Ive been enjoying this game since i bought it, and im glad i did buy it. Probly the best game on my Steam list right now, as for that LONG LOAD crap, thats consoles only, and even Gearbox themselves…
