Just completed the game today. I have to write a review about this game :)

This game is amazing. I wrote that on the first part, but now I know for sure. I just finished the demo, and I have played alot of indie games, but this one is just... something more. I really get impressed rarely by an indie game. One was One Late Night, not for the graphics but the idea. Well, DreadOut was another one. While playing it, at times I could not look at the monitor since I could just smell something bad happening. I didn't go five metres feeling safe. I'll go into details, because I really believe this game deserves a review.

1] The cat. Oh my god, that cute little black kitty was just awesome! I didn't know what to think about it during the whole game. Why was it there? Was it a friend or an enemy? I just saw it on numerous places, and it was just staying there. In the end, after I died once with that kitty near me, we were both reviving, so I think it's a friend. In such a game, some companion is a REALLY good idea, giving the player the thoughts that he is safe, and the player deserves it since the atmosphere could easily made him leave the game and uninstall it. Something like this kitty could prevent that, and it's so cutteeeeeee <3 ^-^

2] The ghost. I don't know if there are more than one ghost in this game (aside of the ones after you use the key to leave the house, I don't count those since they were visible without the camera). That DAMN ghost, is one of the most tweaked and scary things I have seen in a game or a picture ANYWHERE. After picking up the key, I went back not knowing where is that door I need to find, and I was hearing her laughs from a great distance. After opening the door where you spawn (the very first room), it felt like I unleashed the evil itself. She started chasing me, appearing and dissapearing without any warning signs... It felt very bad, since I knew she will keep appearing but I couldn't prevent it, she was way too quick. Taking a couple of pictures might be easy, but when she pops up RIGHT infront of you, you don't even have the time to take one. That serie of jumpscares there is a very awesome thing, it surely kept me at the edge of my seat.

3] The girl. I did not quite understand if she was haunted by that ghost once we met for first time (when she lured me in the corner of that room, then turned into the ghost itself), or if she is just the ghost itself. I really didn't understand that part. When we first met, she kept appearing and then quickly dissapearing. When we first talked, she started laughing for no reason, asking me to follow her. Once I did, I was like 'I KNEW IT WAS A TRAP!'. Then later on, she is crying on the stairs, telling me to escape and giving me a key. Why would she help me if she is the ghost itself? Also the ghost is in the beginning of the map, how could it be both on the stairs and in the beginning? That made me think she was haunted by it earlier, or that I was hallucinating. Never understood for sure.

4] The house. After taking the key and going outside the house, it like completely vanished? I don't know if I was too stupid and couldn't spot it anymore or if it was intended to be like that, but what the hell? That gave me the chills even more, since I was in a house that didn't exist for over 10 minutes.

5] The graveyard ghosts and the giant - I have no idea how to call them, but they are damn creepy... especially the giant one. I didn't really understand what to do there until I flashed the camera in their faces at least 30 times each. That is the only con, I will discuss it a little later. I loved the combination of house vanishing + those graveyard monsters, you can't hide anywhere. Once I managed to beat both of them, I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out what to do next.

6] The atmosphere - throughout the whole game, as I stated above, the atmosphere was on top level. As I was walking, I never felt relieved, even after playing with the cat. Most games I played were obviously like this : Jumpscare happens, you are safe in that room. I don't know if that game works this way, but I had a feeling that it doesn't. Those creepy hard to hear sounds, playing in the background gave me the chills from once I started. Also, the darkness throughout the whole game, it makes you feel vulnerable because you cannot see if anything hostile is approaching. Another thing, the camera. While using the camera, you can see the enemies, but you are slow and extra vulnerable. While not using it, you can run but you don't know where the enemy is, which makes you feel unease. Mankind's biggest fear - the unknown - very well used in the game. On top of everything, just the way the ghost looks makes you not want to encounter it at all costs.

7] The only con. The only thing I disliked in this game was the lack of clear objectives during the whole playthough. I did not know where to go, what to do, and that resulted in around 4-5 minutes of walking around every time I managed to accomplish something, it was a downhill.

Overall, if I had to say everything summed in a couple of words, here it is. This game is amazing. It has everything a horror game must have, and is structured REALLY well. I didn't lose my time playing this game, I loved it. Rating would go 9,7/10 for now, can't wait to see the full version.

I'm voting for it on Steam, I'll recommend it to some friends, and I can't wait to play the full game.

Here is my second part of the game (final) : Youtube.com

Regards,
Night.

(PS sorry for the spam, just really wanted to share my thoughts)
