Hello everybody! How are you today?

We’re pretty well, with some interesting news to tell you and to show you.

You can start looking at this new screenshots from the Underworld of Doorways, this time from the sector called “The Hospital”:

We finally have some news about the release of The Underworld, the new chapter of Doorways...

Yes! We’re going to start making pre-orders on the upcoming month (July) and we’re planning to have it released on the next month (August).

We’re also official about the decision of making the new chapter a separated game, and not just a Downloadable Content (DLC), which was the idea at the beginning.

You can read more news at our last post in our blog:
The Abandoned Hospital

And more about development here:
Sounds creepy...

Thanks for all your support!

(Linux/Ubuntu/32bit)

The game is running great, however only at medium settings.
At high or highest settings it just shows a black screen.

It is still looking good though, but I am curious: What exactly I am missing by running it at medium settings...bloom, HDR, high res textures...?

Hi there. The new version (1.1c) is available and now you should be able to change the settings during the game from the menu. There's not too much difference between the Medium and High and Highest quality (a little better look for the real time shadows, Anti-aliasing and other stuff).

A) Great game... so far.
B) The only issue I have is it keeps uninstalling every time I get off Desura and come back on. The files are there, but I have to re-verify them every time.
C) I purchased the 1-4 Chapter package and now it is for "invite only"? Is that what makes it uninstall?
and
D) Will there be Steam keys involved here as well? Not that I need them, I just have Steam on more often than Desura.

The game does work indeed with a Xbox 360 controller (in Linux anyway).
I don’t know though if force feedback is implemented.

Here is the finished Let's Play of Chapter 2 of Doorways, from eGamer South Africa :D

Chapter 2 - Part 1: Youtube.com
Chapter 2 - Part 2: Youtube.com

Focusing on the chapter itself, it's probably about an hour in length at maximum, which is a tiny bit on the short side, but I maintain all of my previous compliments in my last comment. At the end of the above let's play I give a full opinion, but to summarise here:

I find this to be a definite improvement over an already great chapter one. It's got more creativity and for certain a more aesthetically pleasing and artistically interesting world. You also definitely feel more under threat in this chapter, and I like the whole theme of the statues. I'd love to see chapter 3 continue this and deliver a fresh environment to explore that differs from what came before it. It was great to see in chatper 2.

I appreciate that the backstory has more of a presence here, but I still feel the narrative needs to be brought forward to a more important role, as it will help the game become more compelling.

Otherwise, the chapter as a whole flows very nicely, it's very intriguing, and the creativity in the gameplay is fast becoming what this series' biggest strength is. Perhaps the saddest part is knowing there's a long wait to chapter 3! :P

But keep up the excellent work. I'm a big fan of this game, and will be looking forward to more in future. I'll be in touch ;)

Best of luck with the launch, Tobias!
