GZdoom 2.x and higher requires a better graphics card (needs opengl 3.x or higher), so this is going to be here as the last stable release for anyone...
The demons came and the marines died. Except one. Your are the last defence against these hell-spawned hordes. Prepare for the most intense mutant-laden, blood-splattered action ever! The texture-mapped virtual world is so real, you don't just play DOOM - you live it.
As will be seen, Doom changed quite a bit from this original plan -- almost nothing found within these 16 sections made it to the full game. Nevertheless, it's an interesting read -- and explains more than a few mysteries about Doom's features.
