While not much is known about the third title in the famous DOOM series, we do know that this next game from id Software will feature incredible engine technology using the latest in 3D graphic card architecture, and an atmosphere even more frightening than the original that started it all, DOOM.

During the last month of development we have added many new game play features and visual enhancements to the mod. We have integrated Denton's Enhanced Doom3 mod which brings in a wealth of visual and technical improvements. This includes bloom lighting with HDR like shift sensitivity, Material based decals, particles and sound effects, New weapon FX system, enhanced blood, gore and gibbing,
and much more.
A few more features have been added to the summary as well. Melee combat is now combo based using light and strong attacks chained together. We've given the player more defensive options including dashing, dodging and calling upon a telekinetic shield to avoid enemy attacks.
In the images section, a new work in progress ingame screen shot has been added. Today we present the first textured preview for the Icon of Sin's head by Dinky. In Doom2, The icon was just a Face painted on a wall and spawned countless waves of enemies. Ruiner's Icon will be more than a head and have more ways to defend himself than just spawning enemies. What these are will remain unseen until release...
Which is still on track for this winter ;)

iz it just me or is the expantion pack WAY better than original doom 3?
nope no doom 4, but are you joking?! the grafix are wicked great,if you wanna see grafix as good as the screens maxed the game out!
the flashlight just adds to the atmosphere and make u feel like more scared
5/10 game sucks graphic ain't nothing like the pics above,no flashlights on guns ( exept when you get duct tape mod), Bodies and guns gib and the blood and gunshots get cleaned by an unknown force, doom3 is messed up hopefully doom4 (are they making it?) will fix lots of these.
Hey wat do u think is better guys? Doom3 or Fear? Personaly i like Doom3.
If you ask me i wish the guns had better names then pistol shotgun or chain gun it's just freakin boring

people say it has a cool graphics engine.I have XFX 6800GS a high end card.But the garphics are dark and full of black nothing you can see.
ok dude just to begin with 6800gs is NOT a high end card and the "garphics" as u call them lol are wondefull maybe u should just as -Dr.Noob should learn how to turn on the flashlight before u start trying to degrade one of the greatest games released in the past few years...(although i like HL2 much better but thats just me)
before i bought the game (im 14), my friend got it on his birthday, (he turned 14), and me, him, and his brother, and a bunch of other people played the game, Singleplayer & Online, well, i was going through these vents, and then i saw this guy in a bathroom without a head, and then my friends brother said Shaving Accident (friends bro is 15 and turning 16). lol
That was the cyber demon you fight at the end. Anyone who's played Doom 1 and 2 should know that. But, if you paid attention earlier in the game, that spot where you fight the cyber is the spot where you seal the gates of hell. If you paid more attention to the game, you'd know that.
I finised doom 3 (4th quater with cheats) and the last boss was some random giant monster that just decided needed to be killed! i mean what a crappy ending. i know the marines come and everything but sheese! Not as good as the other dooms i say.
