The Doom 3 Boss Contest is over! There was quite a bit of tension leading up the the final hours of the contest with many of the contestants scrambling to get something completed on time.
Five of the seven entrants got their bosses submitted by the deadline and let me tell you, there is a VARIETY of bosses! Here's some screengrabs from the boss's & be sure to check out each one!

Boss Boss Boss Boss Strange-Building Boss?
Screens and screens4 were the only ones that seem worth posting, really. Even screens4 is poorly lit (for a competition where you're judging people on their model work?), making it hard to tell what's going on.
Good effort though, everyone!
pic 5 isn't a boss, just a pic of a sweet level for the boss in pic 6. You can blow up structures in that map. :)

rules for contestants:
So the object was to take ~1.5 months and make a new boss for doom 3, any way you wanted. No limits on what could be done, size, etc.

Yeah, I'm surprised too. I generally find out about anything in relation to Doom 3, I don't know how this slipped by me.
I don't think I get updates on people unless I watch them. Just being a friend doesn't update me I guess... Now that I think about that, why don't I get informed of updates from my friends?? ModDB Staff, you guys should add friend updates. If MySpace and Facebook have this feature, why doesn't ModDB?
I'm sure you've noticed that there's not much doom 3 activity here, you should keep an eye on some other sites. Not because moddb.com wouldn't post anything, the people who do the stuff just don't post here is all.
Hmm first boss look very professional, rest of screens shoots don't show them in good way, much to dark or to far from point of view.
we're well aware of that & are planning accordingly for "next time". Have you tried them? Three of the bosses keep you on your toes so it was pretty hard to get get screens of them in combat situations.
