An unofficial fan version of the JohnnyDoom mod, with everything getting a significant boost and safety in players favor. Epic BFG, Apocalypse Hellfire Missiles, Saw attacks can gain health and armor, Melee knife buffed, Weapons 5-through-9 completely rebalanced, More max health and armor, More ammo, Plasmagun and Mastermind Chaingun are safe to use and super powerful. When you just want to absolutely destroy hordes of monsters with total overkill, then the SAW Edition is for you.

Notable mentions about this edited version:
- Chainsaw attacks are greatly more powerful and now gain health or armor on hitting enemies.
- BFG, Plasmagun, Mastermind Chaingun and Flamer are now safe to use at close range.
- Max ammo limits greatly increased for all weapons.
- Weapons 1,5,6,7,8,9 have been rebalanced; boosted in power, more useful and effective. Early weapons are their old unchanged normal selves, but mid-tier and end-tier weapons are now much more destructive.
- Rocketlauncher's primary fire now fires a high velocity, low-AoE high damage anti armor rocket.
- Bonus health pickups, soul spheres and executions now give much more health.
- Max health and armor are now 300. Green armor gives 150 armor, blue gives 300. Regular health kits only heal up to 100, but bonus health and executions can raise hp up to 300.
- Fist of Justice got greatly powered up in explosive power. Special hint: If you use the Fist of Justice while unarmed (fists out), it will only consume 15 hell ammo, instead of the usual 25 ammo per shot.
- Melee Knife upgrade got significant damage buff. You can now slice most basic enemies with a single swipe.
- Stolen Mancubus Flamer has greater range, does not hurt the player and has increased damage.
- Stolen Revenant Launchers now pack a bigger punch and offer more shots. Use alt-fire to unleash a barrage of non-homing rockets with faster rate of fire than the regular homing rocket shots.
- Hellfire Missiles now can annihilate entire rooms and corridors of monsters in apocalyptic chain reactions. Super devastating!
- Invulnurability Sphere now activates JDrive; a temporary super power mode for double damage, 2x rate of fire, 2x movement boost, health regen and godmode. All of this is active for two minutes. Rip in and tear hard!
Bonus: The zip file includes JNewMonsters (extra monster variants), NightVision (infinite hotkey for NV anywhere, anytime) and a modified jp_Mobility_v5 (floor slide, wall cling and double jump).

With your adjustment and the gap closer move (sliding), it now worth the risk to use "melee attack".
Tbh, I find that I have to play cautiously in vanilla JohnnyDoom most of time, since doomguy's fire-power is weaker compared to vanilla Brutal Doom, and he is too fragile to move close to enemy for melee attack, just not worth the risk to do so.
