The Old God has left the world and the pretenders are awakening and coming out from hiding. You start the game by designing one of the pretender gods that will compete for true ascension to godhood. The type of god can range from a magically powerful arch mage to an ancient kraken or a mystic monolith that people pray to. Your pretender controls one of over sixty different nations and with the help of that nation he will spread his word and battle the other pretenders. Dominions 3 is a turn based strategy game. You can play single- or multiplayer (1 - 23 players) with simultaneous turns. There are more than 1500 different units, 600 spells and 300 magic items in the game. The game also features a medieval musical score by Erik Ask Uppmark and Anna Rynefors, both awarded the title of Musicians of the Realm by the Swedish Zornmärkeskommiten. Dominions 3 is a highly detailed game and a 300 page pdf manual is included in the download.

Exceptional addictive game. Don't buy it, unless you have enough time to invest.

This game is an example for other games to follow. It has endelss replayability, ridiculously large variability, a huge and still active modding community with dozens upon dozens of player contributiions. You are missing out if you don't play this game.

The only game I own that I'll still be playing twenty years from now. So many strategies, so much detail, so many units and nations that you might never have enough time to even explore all of the possiblilities, let alone master them. Unmatched play value for your dollar, a great challenge and an awesome game.

Perfect, slick strategy game with almost ideal gameplay. Have rich and diverse selection of units, actions, items and even civilizations with distinct gameplay. Only drawback of this game is somewhat spartan user interface and dated graphics. Not very important for turn-based strategy. Must have!

Dominions 3 is a unique strategy game not easily master nor easily comprehended. But if you are sick and tired of 30 hours being the maximum entertainment for your gaming dollar you WANT this game. There is nothing cheaper in my view. I average my gaming dollar on Dominions at about $0.01/hour. Frankly, who cares what it costs. Just as long and folks play it so I can smash them in MP.

Dominions 3 does a great job of capturing all of the things I love about grand strategy games. Tons of units, spells, and magic items in a turn-based fantasy wargame setting; what's not to like?

While the user interface may be a bit archaic and unwieldy, I promise you that you will not notice it by the first time your empire is besieged by enemies and your dreams of Godhood are on the verge of being crushed!

Dominions 3 is one of the best strategy games around. With 100's of units, spells, and items, there are multiple paths for any of the many different factions to victory. And if by some chance you have mastered the nations and strategies presented by the base game, there is a whole world of Dom3 mods out there- new nations, re-balances, fantastic new maps. All around, this game is a deep, engaging, and fantastic turn based game.

Of course, with this amount of depth, the learning curve is pretty steep. The multitude of options also means the computer controlled opponents simply can't hold a candle to a properly trained human player- so after a certain mastery of the core game, multi-player action is the only way for a player to truly be challenged. Thankfully, there are several active communities for multi-player Dominions, and playing such a complex game with skilled human players is an absolute blast.
