The Old God has left the world and the pretenders are awakening and coming out from hiding. You start the game by designing one of the pretender gods that will compete for true ascension to godhood. The type of god can range from a magically powerful arch mage to an ancient kraken or a mystic monolith that people pray to. Your pretender controls one of over sixty different nations and with the help of that nation he will spread his word and battle the other pretenders. Dominions 3 is a turn based strategy game. You can play single- or multiplayer (1 - 23 players) with simultaneous turns. There are more than 1500 different units, 600 spells and 300 magic items in the game. The game also features a medieval musical score by Erik Ask Uppmark and Anna Rynefors, both awarded the title of Musicians of the Realm by the Swedish Zornmärkeskommiten. Dominions 3 is a highly detailed game and a 300 page pdf manual is included in the download.

Dear Illwinter, Dont be like other devs. Please keep on developing these great games and I wish you all the best for all the upcoming games you will be making and I hope you will continue to support Dominions 3 and Conquest of Elysium 3. I just got your games and I prefer them over today's eye candy. Please continue updating and making these great games and I don't care if I have to pay $10 or $100 as long as I know you are the one making it. You are one of my favorite devs now and I almost called in sick for work today after I downloaded Dominions last night.

PS. I just wished Dominions 3 had CoE3's battle animation while CoE3 had Dominions 3's depth.

I love your games!

I whole-heartedly agree.
Games like this get re-installed on my computers throughout the years. Most modern games I play for a few hours, have buyer's remorse, and unistall with contempt.
My only desire for your games would be A) an option to set up a "listen server" for multiplayer and B) a better UI. Please keep the same graphical "style", as it is both functional and (I think) timelessly classy. Too many companies push the 3D envelope and look dated when released, as it takes too long to complete the dev cycle.
Honestly, companies like yours (the Indies) are the only ones worth buying from these days. Keep up the good work!

When I create a new game it randomly selects a race for me, is there any ways I can change my race? this sucks!

Just click on "Random" when that screen comes up, and you'll be able to select all the races for that era.

If you have any other questions about the game then you are probably better off asking on the forum. As there are a lot more players who regularly check the forum, and your question could also be missed if asked in this comments section (or at least it might take longer for you to get a reply to the same question asked on the forum)

Yes. Click on the text "Random" and it will allow you to select your nation. You can similarly pick the nations of your AI opponents.

Delighted to see that Dominions 3 is no longer on Schrapnel; and is now available at a reasonable cost.
Schrapnel imo are a very regressive company; and their policies and pricing put a lot of people off - they put me off anyway.
I expect the game will now begin to attract a much larger community - as it deserves.

Bought Conquest of Elysium 3 this week, buying Dominions 3 today. No compunctions about paying full price on either, these are great games, the kind I wish more people would try. I've gotten more enjoyment and time out of my $10 of Elysium than almost any AAA $60 game. Look forward to more of the same.

Also, in case anyone has read the other commens and is concerned, at least on my demo the Red Screen bug is no longer present.

Demo bug.

There is currently a bug in the demo that makes the screen turn red after 20 turns. The demo will be updated to get rid of that as soon as Desura approves the new demo.

Demo limits you from research (magic) past level 4, greater and higher summons, and .. not sure if it was turns or time based, but I spent several hours playing last night. Closer to 4-5, though I wasn't timing myself.

It's awesome!

Hundreds of different units. Dozens of Nations to play.
A mind boggling amount of spells to cast.
Equip your summoned Angels, Deamons or other monsters with different items you have forged.
Sacrifice slaves to perform the most vile of magics: Blood magic.
Etc. etc.....

And all these options do not even include the hundreds of mods that have been made by the community.

If you like GRAND strategy games you should definitely check this out.
