Story:
“A long time ago at the peak of the High Kingdom of Pandura, a group of seers looked into legends of a powerful force believed to be the origin of life; this they called ‘Gan’, though modern peoples know it as ‘Divinia’. The ancients sought to utilize Gan as a weapon; in doing so, their perverse intentions spawned the malignant ‘Gan-Ti’, or ‘anti-life’. Infusing Gan-Ti into artifacts, the godlike High Kings ruled the Panduran Archipelago with an iron fist.

Eventually, rebellion arose and the Order of Archkeepers was formed of the most noble warriors to free the people. They managed to capture the relics of Gan-Ti and cast them into the fiery pits of Mt. Suvius near the shores of Oria island. With the evil power of the relics suppressed, the monsters that terrorized the countryside were slain and the old Kings overthrown. Peace had come.

As of late, however, rumblings have been heard from Mt. Suvius, and the wise have come to fear an eruption. With a reckless young King having just assumed the throne of Oria, will the powers of Gan-Ti again fall into the hands of the most powerful, or can a new force arise to combat the inevitable?”

Team Monkey consists of a small group of independent developers working on the studio’s launch title, ‘Divinia Chronicles: Relics of Gan-Ti’. Among the team are both industry veterans and newcomers, previously shipping titles such as "Crysis", "The Settlers Series" and "Ankh". But now we devoted ourselves to create a unique and innovative game that stands out with its design and love for the detail; a game which would otherwise never find its way on the limited game market. As we all have fulltime jobs to pay the bills, we can only work on the game in our spare time, this is why our development progress is much slower compared to other Indie/AAA studios. Hi guys,
Today we have some good news to share with you :-)

1.) We ported our game to the SDK2013

What does this mean? As you might know, the SDK2013 brings some advantages to our previous engine branch such as better motion blur, virtual reality (Oculus Rift) and native support for MAC and LINUX; a release which however we cannot confirm at this point as it depends on our success on PC.

But what has been really great is that it allowed us to implement a set of custom shaders (Thanks to Biohazard), which will add dynamic sunrays and dynamic self-shadowing to the engine, a tech similar to what you can see in CS:GO or Titanfall. We are quite excited about these additions and what they will bring to our small game :-)

At the same time we stay focused to optimize the game performance. All above features are completely optional, so if you have a low-end rig you can switch them off anytime.

So that's it for my small tech update today; please expect new material from our upcoming early access version soon.


Divinia Chronicles: Relics of Gan-Ti is a single-player, classic-style Action-RPG. With influences ranging from Ocarina of Time to Final Fantasy, this action-oriented title seeks to revive the vintage flavour and vibe of the classics in an original world with a new tale to be told. Explore the island of Pandoria, solve puzzles and fight a variety of creatures as Cyrus, Kira and Dyani work to destroy the relics of Gan-Ti and restore order to the land.

As we posted in the news, we decided not to release it to the public. Main reason is, this is a story driven coop RPG. Its not the same as an mutliplayer deathmatch shooter, where you can release various updates, a story driven game will loose most of its appeal after first playthrough.

Secondary reason is the fact that you're going indie, no? I'd assume you could use the prospect of a beta of some kind as incentive to donate via. Kickstarter?

Although, honestly I'd expect that to be the main reason.

I don't think they could go indie without changing a lot of the storyline and the name itself. As then they would probably get in a few issues with the fact of the existance of the mana series. Now then... I WANT THIS!

@Darthlex, No, believe me, we do not want to release a early beta or something, we think it would sort of "destroy" such a beautiful game. This type of game should be played in final state, not in buggy beta state. (My opinion)

@resserection, I can assure you, this is a fully fleshed game with unique storyline, characters, locations and world. We are in no way whatsoever copying/remaking any other title released in the past;
