Combining its own unique take on the real-time roguelike genre, with a nostalgic 16-bit look and feel; Diehard Dungeon is a game that feels both familiar and quite different at the same time, "occupying a curious middle ground between The Legend of Zelda and The Binding of Isaac". [Edge online 2012] Followed by a trusty, treasure collecting companion chest, the player must make their way through the dungeons many randomly-generated rooms and levels. Armed with a sword and a ‘hand cannon’, all manner of nasty dungeon dwellers, bosses and traps will need to be defeated or traversed in order to emerge from the dungeon victorious! To aid them in their quest, the player may be lucky enough to encounter one or more upgrades, or new abilities, scattered throughout the dungeon. A randomly generated dungeon is created every playthrough. Discover the dungeons many secrets and multiple outcomes. Do you have what it takes to survive the dungeon?

This is a small update that will be available to download very soon.

Changes:

  • Added 'Camera Type' to the Options menu. Choose between Dynamic (default) and Fixed (a zoomed out camera that is locked to the player).
  • Added 'Enemy Damage' to the Options menu. Turn on to view enemy hit damage numbers.
  • Added descriptions to the Options menu.
  • Improved default 'Dynamic' camera (slightly zoomed out with slower zooming in/out)
  • Re-balanced Knives, Triple Shot, Kaboom and Scatter abilities, either individually, or when combined. Certain combinations of these have been toned down slightly as they were overpowered. NOTE: If you are lucky enough to encounter a combination containing any of these abilities, they will still be highly effective.
  • Added delay to low hearts warning sound.
  • Fixed an issue with the cannon projectiles not hitting lights/torches at certain angles.
  • Greatly improved cannon physics.
  • Fixed movement speed glitch when carrying a key whilst poisoned.
  • Tweaked container colours when destroyed in water.
  • Increased Sloth speed in 'Mayhem' mode.

Support for non-qwerty keyboard layouts may also be included in this patch, but it's taking slightly longer to implement than expected, and will require more testing. If it isn't included in this patch, it will be added to the next.
