What is the derelict?
Derelict is a video game that combines strategy, action and simulation together

The universe and the history of derelict could be summarized as " A future that we do not know the past."
We try to explain in this sentence that the universe of derelict is in our future ( the year 2302 ), but the player and the local population hardly know anything of the history of this world.
To get you in the context I let you read the description of the game
Some dates and important points about the universe :
- In 2142 , an unknown catastrophe strikes the earth , decimating 90% of the population, turning off energy and also the technology .
- In 2150 an expedition spacecraft returns to earth but due to an unknown cause is emptied of its main energy and then goes on his backup power generators and remains around the earth . The passengers can't leave the capsules due to lack of energy on the ship.
- In 2301 the poor condition of the vessel after 150 years will hover unstable and non-functional, the ship will then fall on the ground and leave the cryostase capsules decompress gradually over several months . For the lucky passenger thoses incidents allowed them to get out alive (hundreds of survivors) .
- In 2302 it was the beginning of the adventure of the player in this post-apocalyptic world.In

2302, the sun rises

With these few simple words and yet filled with emotion that your adventure begins in DERELICT , while a landscape you see the solar orb slowly on the horizon . Nothing else. Just the fact that man has for thousands years of waking up every day, observing a celestial landscape that does not change . Simple method to get closer , we modern men to our prehistorical peers. The image of man versus nature , about the world around him, and finally face himself. Here somehow everything involved a dive into the world of derelict .

You are a passenger of the exploration spaceship " TerraNova -x2 ", a man in those days arose especially the question of what we were eating in the evening. And speaking of food , there is the problem for you : you're hungry your important mission will be hunting , picking bay, protect yourself and your partner if you 're against animal attacks , players , NPC , and meet the needs of the group. From there , you 're on your own. It is also at this point that the player understands that it will not be a classic game and it will abandon the status of fun video entertainment into a simulation, the life of a man living in a world ravaged and returned to a "prehistorical" condition.

The player has chosen to be more free from all laws. Thus, you will have no predefined route and , from the start, can go absolutely anywhere you like . Of course, we must not lose sight of the purpose of your mission, and be careful not go too much away . However, nothing prevents you if you want to stroll for hours and hours to the most distant lands , to go hunting for your own account , to visit the places that interest you. In short, in a nutshell , FREE ! You are absolutely free to do whatever you want ( within the game possibilities of course , do not tell me you want to climb a tree and have fun throwing stones on all passers-by) . But the player is not a ninja, or a superhero . So, he can't be like them , namely hunting evil and fulfill its mission without resting a moment, and without filling the belly when the need arises. The player is hungry, thirsty, tired, injured . Thus, as and when time passes, the player will be a little hungry , slightly, thirsty, etc ... If you do not solve his needs, you might see his condition wither drastically, and see the life of your character enter into a sad and timely manner. How so ? In this world, convenience stores and supermarkets do not really flourished , nor fridges . If you want your character to be nourished , so we will have to hunt. And who says hunting says weapon , namely an axe or a bow see perhaps a technological relic of the ancient world. But weapons either do not grow on tree , and you will again have to arm yourself with patience because you will need to build or repair those weapons.

Thus , you will need the hands-on and assemble different materials together to make your weapon operational . You will obviously starting with a bag that can hold a limited number of objects and provisions . What are you going to do when you kill a rabbit ? Eat immediately his meat ? Get him back to the village? Take a piece just to keep your water supply and your tools ? Or even leave everything for a lack of space , hoping to get some time later on a bush of blueberries or an other player / NPC to be defrauded? This meat , it rots quickly , so do not expect to keep it for several days ! And have you thought to look if you're tired ? In which case you will obviously stop to rest, which will pass the time, and increase hunger and thirst ! You understand that , again , the player is free in his choice and his style of gameplay.

The player , above all, is a man. And as any man living with his fellows, he must comply with certain social rules. Understand by this that all that are rudimentary habits of the time, say hello and introduce yourself is a sign of politeness , while saying " Prostrate , dog ! "Can bring you harsh retaliation. And at this time , we do not just stick a slap or go complain to the police. Disrespect a fellow that's your life in danger , after a battle that will go to the handling of weapons ! Of course, if you don't have any weapon, you can always try the unarmed combat , but in this case the outcome is often disastrous for you. If the enemy does not kill you ( thus ending your game, for that matter) , you will find yourself still in a very poor condition. Injured , you will find something you care . In addition, you will probably be stripped of all your belongings ! A re you you looking for tools, weapons , killing bears or other critters to get skins. While not forgetting that , the longer you are injured , the more you have a chance of dying . Conversely, if you 're doing well during the dialogues with players or NPC , you will have other options as simply go your way or engage in barter. Indispensable to retrieve weapons if you fail to make the last thing!

But do not forget one crucial thing : you and your group are not alone in this land. You can build your camp where you want and move it if necessary, for example if the food is missing or if there are too many attacks. you will have to build your camp and it will perform tasks such as collect firewood , build a hut , build barricade, make a spear, go hunting, etc. ...

In this world of gross transport goods , food, housing is difficult which is why it is advisable to find a means of transport.
