...have been greatly exaggerated.

The Electronic Liberation Front, the team behind Defeat in Detail 2, are proud to announce the work that has been going on behind the scenes to redesign and improve our real-time-strategy game, which should be ready for a new release soon.

New features include:

3d Controlable Camera - No more fixed overhead view. The camera is rotated via an intuitive control system.

Clientside Cursor - No cursor lag in multiplayer

Scriptable Unit System - Unit types are now defined in external files, making it easily moddable

Unit health and selection indicators - In an innovative step, these are conbined in a clever way.

New weapon and unit types - Endlessly expandable using the new external scripting system.

Building based menu system - As used in most modern RTS games.

New models, sounds and graphics - DiD2 is being updated to completely modern standards.

Speedups, bugfixes and improvements - The game now runs much faster and more reliably, and looks better too!

If you'd like to help in any area, particularly mapping, please don't hesitate to get in contact.

make a factory for the vehicles or they could be brought by a big helicopter, would look a lot better.

Looks interesting. Just 2 things that i dont like about it:
1. the menues look a bit cheap, maybe a real commandbar would be better.
2. Do the tanks drop from the Air?
What kind of models do you use? i might be able to give you some .w3d or .3ds models for buildings\vehicles or aircraft.

The menus are temporary, they will cetainly be improved.

We use .md3 model format, though I can happily convert from other formats, so if you have any models to donate I'd happily accept them.

Maybe they can add a parachute to the tanks just spawning?

The dropping from the air is again temporary, eventually they'll just spawn on the ground and fade in.
