“A deserted island…a lost man…memories of a fatal crash…a book written by a dying explorer.” Two years in the making, the highly anticipated Indie remake of the cult mod Dear Esther arrives on PC. Dear Esther immerses you in a stunningly realised world, a remote and desolate island somewhere in the outer Hebrides. As you step forwards, a voice begins to read fragments of a letter: "Dear Esther..." - and so begins a journey through one of the most original first-person games of recent years. Abandoning traditional gameplay for a pure story-driven experience, Dear Esther fuses it’s beautiful environments with a breathtaking soundtrack to tell a powerful story of love, loss, guilt and redemption. Winner of 2012 IGF Excellence in Visual Art. Supported by Indie Fund.

Can I make a request? Please, please, please don't publish any media of the latter stages of the game.
There are a number of places where the unexpected visuals increase the impact, a specific example being the cliffs.

I really want to be able to keep up to date with the game but I don't want the remade versions of the areas to be spoilt for me. I want my first sight of them to be as I round a corner ingame and they come into view.

Also, you have forums on this IndieDB profile and forums on your website. Wouldn't it be better to just have the website forums?
It seems a bit unnecessary to have forums here as people can comment on everything you add anyway.

There will be closed captions - we're currently assembling a list of languages and will hopefully confirm those at the beginning of March - dan

I suppose that is a good way to ignore my questions. You could have at least messaged me the answers. Good luck with your project.

If you want to rephrase it, I'll happily answer it. It's worth looking at Rob's new devblog post first, and checking out Podcast17 as we may well be answering questions about the process of going commercial. Dan

A word of warning, this is definitely not for everyone, I can imagine someone downloading it thinking there would be a lot of action, but there is not. The game contains breathtaking vistas and other sights, the visuals is absolutely astonishing. I first thought that this game would only run with 30 fps on my computer, but the game ran surprisingly well, I don't think I had a single (visible) framedrop. If I had to give some criticism to the game, it would be the story and the way it is presented…

This game is not a game and the game length is almost as long as a movie. It's not worth the price tag for such a remake like this and should have deserved watching this through YouTube without the need to walk and play through a boring tale without the usual purpose of gameplay.
