Dr. Green, expelled from medical practice and separated from his daughter, is suddenly freed from his sentence at cryoprison on space colony Sarang-2 - only to discover that everything has changed in the world he used to know. Over the next 6 days (chapters), he will face unspeakable challenges and acquire powerful weaponry. Is this his chance at redemption? Or just an excuse to leave a trail of bodies in his wake? Help him find out.
Enjoy Dead Colony and many other great games on Desura.
The next patch will have visual improvements to the game.
... radical ones.
Enjoying the demo. I'd like to request keybinds for next/previous weapon. choosing by number is kind of a pain for me.
This is likely to be in the next patch.
It woul be nice to have a lot of tiles styles to switch to. The ASCII is a good idea, but I'd like to have several realistic ones. Will it be modable?
All the graphics files are exposed and can be modified. Not sure about supporting an "official" mod structure, however.
I think an official mod structure certainly wouldn't hurt anything ;).
I imagine it would be pretty easy to convert if you're using SDL. You're probably not doing anything platform-dependent at all in fact. You could get a copy of ubuntu 12.04 up and running in virtualbox, download the gcc and sdl packages and build it in no time.
I know it's kind of a hassle and I'm certainly not trying to push you into doing it, and I'm happy with the game on windows-only personally. I just don't want you to miss out on having another platform available and maybe more sales as a result because you think that porting it would take a long time.
"Building executable" is only a subset of porting process. I might get back to this topic if I manage to get sufficient experience with Linux.
I am getting some conflicting feedback on difficulty, which makes things... difficult. Gonna pretend-meditate on this issue because I don't, uh, really meditate...
P.S. The boss exploit you mentioned, fixed it with today's 1.02 patch.
