Tired, scared, wet and muddy and family and friends probably dead. We walk in daylight a supposed time of safety scavenging a modern wasteland for the basic means of life we have come to take for granted. At this time the wealth of a man is measured by how much food and water he carries. All we hope for is to live till the next day for and for some that is too much to bare. Hope of rescue long forgotten. Everyday we see more of those... things appear like they have some primal instinct leading them to the living. They move like some hellish automaton creation never sleeping, never tiring and never falter.

Dead Among Us is a UDK single and later multiplayer openworld survival fps game located in Britain based in a survival situation setting.

Ok first off i know it has been awhile since i have posted any real activity on this project however this is mainly due to real life matters invading alot of my time im sorry for the inactivity but i can't really do much about it as you might of guessed. Anyway with that cleared up i do actually have some progress which will perhaps be of interest to you. For starters i am beggining to get a better understanding of the other aspects of UDK other than the artistry for instance i have had a bash at coding in a test weapon so i can get a playable version of the game underway. I know this isnt much and i don't claim to be any good at programming whatsoever it is not my specialism at all but it goes someway into explaining my plee of needing an animator and a U script programmer and then i feel the project will have a base pre alpha which will be better than what is frankly a overly drawn out concept of my idea for the game.

Heres what i have so far (Basically a fully functioning custom weapon without anims)

In other news i have also begun working on creating the custom textures for the alpha which will hopefully include a test village fully textured and basic game mechanics. Heres progress so far on the basic esential concrete pavement texture (Room is temporary just to preview the texture)

Expect a update soon as we hard at work on a ingame video. However we prefer not to update really regularly as we prefer to get more work done so that when we do update it is of higher quality than frequent basis. So do not assume we are dead if activity on this page is not for a little while.

what you should do is make a realism mode and an extra-realism mode the extra realism mode would give you lower health (closer to the same as the zombies) little to no ammo but, the weapons would be more realisic and do enough damage to kill a zombie in 1-3 shots and you would need to find food and you could find survivors like in hl2 when the citizens follow you around they would follow you around and other stuff that makes it as realistic as possible.

how about it mainly be what you call extra realism as i want to make it a challenging mod never mind little to no ammo you theres is little weaponry. On the citizen part yes we are planning to have a people who you can save from the zombie hoard and they will then join your squad along with random survivors and story related ones.

the multiplayer bit is being changed we plan on a single player before perhaps working on a multiplayer im currently working on the story so the page wont be edited till we get the story sorted

no... l4d is an arcade run and gun with zombies we are attempting something like the realism in mods like insurgency but with a zombie enemy and other unique features. I hope that this will be nothing like l4d accept they both have zombies and guns.

It won't be if we set the health of the zombie a bit higher up (I can do that) And don't make them so damn easy to kill :/ its like 1 shot 1 kill lol
