So since im currently writing the new trailer for Days of Extinction
that’s going to show the style of the world and the more emotional side
of the game im going to explain a bit about the style of the game and
give a little more info on some aspects of the game.

Ok so as you may already know your character freezes himself along with his
dyeing wife in an attempt to find a cure upon waking up, well the notion
of being able to freeze yourself in the game originally came about when
I was developing the worlds style and I thought ok well some people
have bomb shelters in their back yard and they don’t make a big deal
about it so what if you had a cryostasis unit in your basement, so after
iterating on it a bit more the idea of having a corporation that sold
these units came about. It fit with the strange laid back style of the
pre outbreak world that if you were one of the elite or rich of the
world you would have a reinforced basement like a bunker with a
cryostasis unit in it. So you could be just sitting watching TV and you
see that there is a war breaking out or the markets have crashed, so you
could just say to yourself “Not to worry, I’ll just freeze myself for a
few years until it’s all better”

So next was to develop a corporation that sold the units to the rich and so Cryo-Care was born
and that’s where your character comes in, like we said you are a
scientist and it was Cryo-Care that you worked for and that’s how you
came to having a unit in your home.

So since before the outbreak the world was this very laid back place where you could just
freeze yourself on a whim for hundreds of years the world after the
outbreak had to reflect hoe grim and depressing it is now so in the
video we’ll be showing at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival
we show a Cryo-Care advert that shows how laid back the world is
followed by the in game video that has a sad depressing feel to it, the
idea of this is to show the contrast between the past style of the world
and how the world is now this dangerous place with no escape.

Although the game itself is a post-apocalyptic action game it’s not so
much about the violence and the killing of mutations. The game sets its
focus on the emotion of the world and its characters, we try to show
the struggle of your character as he tries to save his wife and the
struggle of survivors in the world and you have to make hard decisions
that will affect the people you meet. This game is not another FPS RPG
it’s a story that’s showing that games can carry emotion and tell a
story and as part of that the world itself tells many stories just in
its scenery and locations.
