So some new changes are being implemented into the mod. After doing several icons in the 3.0 style, I began noticing that the overall look was too "varied", as the icons didn't match very well between different races. The paintings that I did took too long and there wasn't a consistent lighting scheme to each of the units. The new style that I'm working with is faster and more matching.

Each of the bottom pictures represents the newer style. I use only one brush to paint and I begin finishing the icons in exactly a day (compared to the previous 3.0 icons which took two days to finish one). Backgrounds will stay the same between races and the borders will be updated to look more appealing. The dimensions of the icons are also stretched and distorted so the images will be better suitable for 1920x1080 screen resolutions. For those worried about me redoing the icons already made in 3.0, I will be repainting them to match this newer look. The hardest part is usually setting up a pose.

I also plan on implementing extra icons for squad weaponry. For example, setting a space marine squad with all heavy bolters will change the portrait to a heavy bolter icon. This will give the game more variation. I have also spoken with Necronguy on the UA mod team and new leader icons and weapon icons will be added to make this mod more compatible with the Ultimate Apocalypse mod.

For 6 years now I have been playing Dawn of War. Modding it gave me that extra plus.

8/10 because it is a really good game. I am however ashamed that Relic stopped at Soulstorm.

10/10 because I always experienced something new in it.

So much more could have been done, that was ignored during development.
Betas should of had more input.

Only saving grace is that there is a Modding community with which to complete the incomplete game... :(
