Darkout is a sandbox, with strategy and survival components. One of the clearest influences present in the game comes from titles like Minecraft or Terraria, sandbox platformers where the player can build up facilities and modify his environment at will. But in Darkout there are some interesting points that make it worth to look at, starting by the importance that light has in the game. Darkout is the 2D action-strategy survival sandbox from Allgraf, a UK-based indie studio teamed by 10 people from 7 different countries and working remotely. The game takes influences from movies like Aliens, Avatar, Pitch Black and games as Terraria, Metroid and Age of Empires.

We started the development in June 2011 and is in Open Beta since February 2013, thanks to the community feedback and a talented team we are polishing the key aspects of the game:
-HD graphics with an astounding lighting system.
-Character customization (armor and equipment).
-Discovery-based research system through a complex technologies tree.
-Dark versus Light combat mechanics and smart enemies AI (significantly improved in upcoming updates).
-Deep storyline and mission-based system using relic portals you will find spreaded through the world (coming in Summer 2013).
-Multiplayer (coming in Summer 2013).
-Male character (coming in Summer 2013).

...and a lot of implemented suggestions yet to come from community feedback. Visit our forums to be part of Darkout development process:
