After an asteroid hits earth, the impacted island chain is sealed off by North Korea. The US responds by sending in a Delta Force team, aiming to discover the secrets locked inside. An alien force then appears from within the meteorite, forcing humans to ally against them. Crysis is CryTek's follow up to their 2004 hit Far Cry, using a different story line, but crams in every new technology from Volumetric Clouds and Motion Blur to backlit leaves. The game will be using the next-gen, breathtaking engine - CryEngine 2 - which will probably be the first one to support DirectX 10 and 4.0. Shader Model.

I don't get why I need a DirectX 10 card for this. I have DirectX 9. And Shader has worked for me too, well 3.0.
You don't need a directX 10 card for it. just a directX 9 card.
You don't need a direct x 10 card.
I got a GeForce 8800GTX but the game runs with about 20 fps because of the dx10 effects....
(buried)
You're an idiot.
I guess you too
I wish this part was included in the game. By the time you get to the carrier, everything has already gone to hell.
Ya, i wish they didnt have stupid aliens!
what would the game be then?
Lol i have a 8800 gts 640mb with all video settings set to HIGH with DX 10 enabled, AA at 8x... I never go below 54 fps. And this screen shot IS in the game, as you arrive on the carrier and as you walk inside, you pass this.
you can download some files from crymod, that allow u too play with the dx10 effects on a dx9 machine. as long as u have the neccessary hardware that is.
