You wake up in a dark alley, not knowing anything. What has happened anyway? You struggle after the truth and answers. Answers you want to know in the darkness and fear, which makes your heartbeat race like violent blows against your head. Where do "they" come from? What has happened? Are you just turning insane? The time is up; you can't stay there reading your smses forever. It's time to head out and find the answers. Cry of Fear is a singleplayer modification of Half-Life 1 which brings you the horror you've always been afraid of. It's a total conversion of Half-Life 1, which means it uses NO Half-Life 1 content or other peoples' files. It's all made exclusively by the developers. It also uses new gaming styles that you will rarely find in Half-Life mods, such as advanced cutscenes and other stuff that will be revealed at a later date.
Cry of Fear got reviewed by the australian tv show called Good Game.

awesome
Cool, and I don't think the scores are unfair, in fact given that they're comparing you to AAA survival horror titles I'd say those were scores to be proud of.
gaz you always know what to say :) miss gaming with you mam
I've been pretty busy working on my own game, I don't play all that many multiplayer things these days.
awesome! congrats for the spotlight, guys!
btw: they tested it with lights on, at a laptop - oh c'mon, playing it only at night, alone (!) at a decent monitor it would have been 8 out of 10, easily. at least they had headphones on. ;)
nice review, still. :)
Nice review, but 6.5 is a huge understatement.
Eh.
I love Cry of Fear.
But I would never say 10/10
I'd put 7/10 personally, I think Afraid of Monsters DC was better. This was good and looked good, but felt kinda...uh, at times. Not nearly as scary.
I could not agree with you more. I felt like AoM had this feel to it that CoF didn't. It was a different take to, Cof tries to be dark and realistic while AoM had this balance to it between being real and abstract at the same time (esspecialy at the later levels) The build up in both games was great but as they said- all goes to naught because the control is taken away from the player. And I didn't had 1/10 of the problems with AoM, that I had with CoF.
Nice, score should have been a little higher though.
Well , they shlould put more score than 6,5. Because is not a team of 20 members how other games
You can't judge it by that. You can't give him a 10/10 just because it was a handful of people versus a large Team.
Cry of Fear is a solid 7/10 to me, and I loved it, played co-op to death.
His comment about the graphics belonging in the 90's is odd though, as several 2004 / 2005 games are about this level or less.
Lol, you gave it 9/10 tho. Doesn't sound so solid to me! Or did you change your mind after this review?
Changed my mind after playing it. That 9/10 was just release buzz. Never really thought to update it, oh well.
Confirming that the weapon animations are the best part of the game.
by far the weakest department in the game relating to quality and believability in my opinion :)
I agree with the girls score of 7/10.
Although If we are just rating the music It,s a total 10/10. Who ever did the soundtrack you guys NEED to keep him. I seriously have not heard this good of a soundtrack in a LONG LONG time.
We've been thinking of sacking the music guy, he's just way to gay.
Cry of Fear was the best mod I've played to date.
And if they dropped the stupid knife then they wouldn't have to complain about having to use it all the time.
They need to review the custom Campaigns. Those... Oh... they were very scary. Made me jump a lot.
Holy crap! I remember this show =D
That's awesome :3
Congratulations on getting the mod on television. Awesome :3
My biggest annoyance in this game was how amazing all the guns and other models were... then seeing the monsters and how mediocre they looked.
I'd love to see an "HD" model pack released to make some of these monsters look a little better :p
Huh. Imagine the shitstorm gathering if someonone DARED to review&rate it 6.5 on moddb.
I think they should have mentioned or made it a little more clearer that it is free.
Good Game sucks *** now, bring back the days of Junglist and Bajo.
Bajo is still on the show
It's funny how big corporations think that survival horror doesn't sell anymore.
