This is the first free release of Coldenlight: Horror Plains
In the first episode; players battle with their friends and enemies through dynamic, random, and violent environments where they test their abilities against other players and Artificial Intelligence.
I have been working diligently to program and implement the valuable core features of Coldenlight.
In the next few days I will release a shortened version of a long video explaining the future of Coldenlight. Today I will show you a few screenshots of things featured in the video and brief explanations of a few features discussed in the upcoming video.

The first episodes allow players to operate cooperatively against AI, other players, and/or both AI and Players. There is a lot of freedom in Coldenlight's development, which has lead to a wide variety of game modes. Coop, Versus, Versus Coop, Necro Versus, Capture the Castle, and many more. - And among each one of these modes is a wide variety of unique and randomly generated scenarios within multiple environments.
Each episode will contain a variety of open-world environments. Each of these environments will offer a new experience each time you play.Each level has an "AI Director" that selects and places various AI and environment props, including rare content/AI used to unlock rare achievements.
While playing the game you will unlock achievements that unlock more content. The content is not neccessarily more "powerful." It is just different.It will give you more flexibility over how you start the game. You will have a limited number of points to select your starting equipment.Achievements can unlock a variety of useful items and equipment, as well as heroes and AI Mercenaries who can accompany you into battle online.In addition to your starting items, you can obtain items throughout your time in the "Chapter" you are playing with your friends.
Over the years I've been developing a system to handle destructable levels in a similar manner to minecraft - but with nice next-gen graphics.Not cubes, but detailed 3d geometry. I have a pretty simple solution for this and near the end of the season all levels will use this system.For the first episodes, only a few bonus levels will have this system implemented.
I want to release 6 Episodes by April 2016. My target rate is 1 Episode a month, but the first few episodes will be released a little slower.I have huge amounts of content and levels to work with and refine. After this first season I expect to release 12 episodes a year.
I have three important systems that will undergo drastic changes on each release. One is the realistic minecraft style environments.The other is a very complex organ system that contains a heart, lungs, stomach, eyes, ect. and a brain that efficiently controls them all.The player character of Coldenlight has a connection to its environment like no other. The survival aspects of Coldenlight are unparalleled.The third system I will not discuss yet, I'm going to sneak it in there soon ;)
I've closed the current alpha funding. Anyone who purchased the game while it was available will recieve a very special edition. This very small group will recieve very exclusive content. It won't give them an advantage, but when players see them; they will know they are someone of importance.
Very soon I will be releasing a rather long video with detailed explanations of a lot of the features and the direction the game will be taking.Along with this video I will be starting a kickstarter or indiegogo campaign and spreading it around as much as I can. I am interested in speaking with any reviewers and interviewers who are interested in the game. If you have a youtube channel, blog, or website, I am open for discussion.Soon, I will have an opportunity for our fans to earn an exclusive achievement that unlocks special content.
