Episode 1: Rumors of an attack on the USSFC facility has brought a scare. The USSFC orders all reserve troops to be outfitted and possibly fight back against an army they know little about. Suddenly things take a turn for the worst. East's division is cut off from Gull City when on a patrol, and Legion soldiers are dead-set on keeping reinforcements out as they purge the remaining USSFC within.

As a last effort, the Squad leader recommends taking an alternate route directly under the blockades. No one really knew what to expect, but their training couldn't have prepared them for what the Legion was really planning.

--- Updates as of 9/1/2010 ---

The episode release plan is still in the works and the first episode is in development. Right now there are 5 episodes 'in thought', but will be officially announced as we finish episodes.

More updates to come soon.

I hate to see a lot of good work go to waste, so I'm releasing (with the permission of Crimson Crow's new owner) all the old art assets originally made for Crimson Crow.

This is an accumulation of 3+ years of work, engine switching, and effort. We're certain the community can put that effort into good use.

All that we ask is that you credit the original author if you use their material.

Also note that many of these models were intended for early versions of Torque, while others may not be finished.

Thank you, and enjoy!

Looking really great! Just a thought, you may have answered this before, but I was just wondering if you are going to incorporate some sort of flashlight or night vision into gameplay as some of your screenshots are quite dark and a little bit difficult to make out some of their details. Anyways keep up the good work lads.

Yes and no.

We originally had a picture of the night vision system in-place, only to find it really didn't do a whole lot of good.

I haven't worked on it recently, but I'll put it back on my list.

Like already posted, the breathing into the microphone is irritating to say the least.
Also, work on the subtext. There are quite a few turns of mind in that monologue, but atm its just one big sob. Try varying the thoughts behind the text a bit and engage yourself in it :)

I can hear you breath into the mic. Good dialogue and amazing acting just the mic. With that aside this indie[?] Looks promising. Tracking and wait =D

I believe they are using "Torque Game Engine Advanced" as it states above of course its my first time on this page so I'm not up-to-date on if they switched.

For UDK, they tried, but the porting went horribly. Besides, i think they already paid a gold pretty penny to get this.

ninjadave Mar 8 2010, 4:39pm replied:

To explain this in better detail:

We did try UDK, but it did indeed fail horribly. We ran into too many problems too many times.
Unigine is a very expensive engine that is frankly completely out of our poor indie reach. Shame too, because its a nice looking engine.
Source was a big option a little while back, and we did make a small attempt to try something out, but in the end it didn't really get anywhere.
Lastly, we looked at Unity for quite a long time but finally decided against it. Its a fine engine but didn't quite suit our needs.

A lot of this boils down to: For right now, Torque works fine. Why change?
